great
if you have had trouble with the cup, try this out. ive got to say, this product changed my life! so convenient, and easy to insert, I have never had to take it out and try again, like you need to do with tampons- I always get it on my first try! im glad I ordered the 2 pack, because the medium fits perfectly, and the large is too big for me, so I was able to try both. and much more comfortable long term- my cramps have been better than with a tampon. I also feel more confident- I have barely any leakage with this, unless it needs to be emptied, and I am not constantly worried about bleeding through my clothes.

If there are no Pixie Disc fans then I am dead
I’m usually not one to write reviews, but I am obsessed with this product. Granted, this is my first use of this device - and my first time using anything outside of pads and tampons - but HOLY SMOKES is this life changing. So many pros: - NO LEAKAGE!! Your mileage may vary, and it may be due to my specific physical attributes, but I can truly galavant around in life and not worry about anything coming out. I used to be a tampon + pad girly but this has been working so well for me - NO MESS!! Obviously inserting and dumping has mess, but when it’s in, everything feels so clean on the exterior. No smelliness that comes with pads and tampons, nothing! - Comfort!! Yes I can feel it, but it it’s less noticeable than a tampon for me. As for cons, well these aren’t cons for me per se but it may be for others. For example, - Mess. Yeah, the lack of mess is a pro for me but dumping the disc is going to be a bit on the messier side. Doesn’t bother me though, and I usually use a square of tissue to help find the string part to tug out. - Auto dumping doesn’t work for me. Doesn’t bother me since I like that it’s so secure for me. Your mileage may vary. Anyway based on other reviews, it seems that this works for most people but some may just be anatomically unable to fully appreciate this product. A shame because it’s seriously amazing and I look forward to saving money in the long run from not needing to buy all the products anymore! Yay!

Detailed honest review
After trying other products, I have reluctantly used pads for years and years. I hate them. My flows are extremely heavy and pads are so messy and take so long to change and clean up in the restroom. I have been thinking of trying disks for a while now and finally decided to bite the bullet. After my first week of using these, I am impressed. I did leak some, but I credit that to my inexperience with disks. Over all I am very happy. The ease of using the restroom is extremely relieving. I will say I am not a fan of the auto-dump and will keep figuring a way to eliminate it even though I'm aware that may not be possible. I don't understand how the company can claim it reduces cramps, I definitely did not notice a difference in that aspect. But the ease of insertion and removal, the ease of clean up, the ease of using the restroom now, all are reasons I will be buying another set and will use these the rest of my life. These disks are super comfortable. Even the large size was virtually unnoticeable. I will be recommending this product. 10/10 a life changer for me

great product
I bought these a while ago; the silicone is very good quality. They do the job, and once you get used to them, they're very easy to put on and take off. The strap makes it very easy, and you don't even feel it. They're still like new. I do recommend buying a steam sterilizer; it makes everything much simpler. For reference, I don't have children, but I use the large size. One thing doesn't necessarily mean the other. I've read completely opposite experiences regarding sizes. It depends on the day and the flow rate; the number of hours you need to empty it isn't always 12. Because when it fills up, it gains weight and that causes it to "lose" fluid; sometimes it's 4 hours. At night, it's effective because there are no leaks.

Don’t buy it
Worst $30 I’ve ever spent. Doesn’t work and is super painful. And yes I tried multiple times and many different ways. This is the only menstrual product I’ve ever had an issue with.

Very hard material
I have been using discs for almost 10 years. They’ve made my period way more comfortable and have given me the most protection. I get my nails done regularly, and I hate having to hook the disc worrying if I’m going to either puncture the disc or damage my nails on removal. I love the idea of this and really wanted to love this product. The shape is not for me. I didn’t have any leaks during the day, but had major leaks at night after only a few hours of wear. The biggest no for me was the hardness of the material. I know it came with lubricant but I don’t want to have to use more product every time I empty and replace it. It was PAINFUL to insert and remove. I’ll be sticking with my flex reusable disc.

NOT good for heavy days
I wanted to love this product. I was really excited about all the potential benefits. Sadly, it falls short. I've used it for 4 cycles so I could get a good sense of what I like and what I don't. PROS: 1. Cost. Definitely a money saver. 2. Comfortable. I don't notice it at all when it's in. 3. Environmentally friendly 4. Insertion is easy once you get the hang of it 5. Easy to clean and disinfect in a sink 6. Might help a little with cramps? Not totally sure. CONS: 1. Leaks. A lot. I would never NEVER wear this without period underwear. Sometimes I have to use it with a pad and period underwear. Totally negates the point. 2. You can't tell when it's 'full'. So you either have to check periodically, or wait until it leaks. Once you take it out to check, you have to do the whole process of cleaning, etc. again even if it wasn't full. 3. Definitely does NOT hold 6 tampons worth. Maybe 6 super light tampons? There are days when I have to empty and clean this thing every 45 minutes. 4. Messy. Like really really REALLY messy. You empty it into the toilet, but then you have to get it to the sink to clean it while it's covered in sticky drippy stuff. 5. This would never work in a bathroom with community sinks - offices, airports, schools, grocery stores, or any place you stand next to someone while you wash your hands. Maybe someone has figured out a way to clean this thing while in a stall, but the amount of wipes or cleanser you'd need to use would negate the no trash and low cost benefit. And...I have no idea how I'd get it clean enough without running water. 6. There's a high ick factor. You need to be OK having blood on your hands (again, hard with a community sink). Putting it in is messy. Taking it out is messy. You have to be really familiar and comfortable with your body. 7. Cleaning this thing is a process. Definitely takes a lot more time than changing a tampon. Especially during heavy days or days I'm at work, I'm going to have to stick with tampons. I just don't trust this thing to do the job. I do like it at night and for the light days at the beginning/end.

Top notch products and customer service
The product itself looks and feels to be of superior quality and the packaging is cute, functional, and comes with some handy extras like feminine wipes and lubricant to help with inserting the disc. I ordered these discs in hopes of spending less money (my period is heavy and lasts 8 days, so I go through a lot of tampons) and reducing my impact on the environment. I went with the discs over the cups because I had tried disposable cups from another brand some 15 years ago and I could just not figure out how to get it inserted correctly. Then again, that company didn't have multiple instructional videos like Pixie does on proper application. Anyway, I bought the discs (and the applicator, separately). I was able to to get it inserted first try, and I'm fairly certain it was inserted completely and correctly, and it was comfortable! I thought all was well until I experienced "dumping" which may have only been a small release of the contents of the disc, and it may have only happened while I was otherwise relieving myself, but with my super heavy flow and prior experiences bleeding through whatever menstrual product I was wearing, I was a little too paranoid about leaking that I have decided this product is probably not for me. I want it to be known I didn't actually leak (other than a few drops after using the toilet) in the few days I tried out the disc, but the anxiety around the possibility of leaking was too much. Why did I give the product 5 stars? Well, first of all, it's a great product, and seems to work out for plenty of other people. Just not for me. More importantly though, is because of Pixies customer service. I reached out to them hoping they might have some way to help with my situation, as I had spent a decent amount of money on the few Pixie items I felt I needed to start my reusable period product journey (The money spent however pales in comparison to the money I've spent on tampons alone over the course of half a year). Pixie responded - so swiftly - letting me know they'd have a set of cups sent to me to try within the next few days. Free of charge and no questions asked. I'd done research before buying the discs. I vaguely remember reading something in a review about "dumping". I'd researched the cups and saw there were instructional videos available that didn't exist 15 years ago. All those things told me to buy the cups and despite all that I went for the discs. But this company clearly values their mission over profits and for that, I can't recommend them enough.

Needs getting used to but it works!
I had tried different cups before and the suction part + the fact that on my heaviest days I still need to take them out a few times to empty them, did contribute to my overall dissatisfaction. I have a very heavy flow and on busier days it's just a nightmare. I was sceptical at first but I have a friend who sweared that discs were the best option out there so I gave it a try last month with the pixie applicator. To be honest I am still getting used to them but I can say for sure that the lack of suction, the applicator assisting with the insertion and the fact I don't have to take it out during the day (just bear down, dump the blood and flex my muscles to reposition it) has made it a lot better than the cup experience. Yes, there is a mess sometimes but I just make sure it's above the toilet. I take it out only morning and evening to wash it and I boil it after the cycle ends.

Comfortable, convenient and completely worry-free
I decided to try the 2 Menstrual Pixie Discs (No Metals or TPE) and I’m so glad I did. They’re made from soft, flexible medical-grade silicone, which makes them really comfortable once in place — you honestly forget you’re even wearing one. I especially like that there are no metals or TPE involved, so it feels much safer and more reassuring to use. They’re easy to insert and remove with a bit of practice, and they sit securely without leaks when positioned correctly. I’ve worn them for several hours at a time without any issues. Having two in the pack is really handy as well — one to use while the other is being cleaned or stored. They’re also far more cost-effective and eco-friendly compared to constantly buying disposable products. If you’re considering switching to discs, these are a great, comfortable option that feel high quality and reliable.

They really work!
I have never really got on with tampons and other internal period products, but these are fantastic! They also enabled me to keep swimming during my period which was a little nerve wracking but worked perfectly fine! Honestly I was a little dubious about this product, but they really do exactly as described, and are easy to insert, plus soft and not uncomfortable. Pinch it together, push in at an angle then use your index finger to push it up so it is level (internally) and pull the tab thing to nicely ensure it's sat comfortable. The biggest issue is removing it really, it is a messy job, there's just no other way to do it, but I find doing it in the shower helps minimise clean up! It does empty itself when you go to the toilet, and especially in summer you do feel fresher. Anyone who's a little nervous, I think this a great product to try out!
