Edited to add: my husband lives these butterscotch candies BUT the order we received yesterday smells and tastes like aftershave was dumped in them. I'm really pissed off. I thought whomever was loading the box had aftershave on his hands but it's in the bag too. I also ordered some strawberry candies and they are contaminated too. The AI Rufus said to return them but nobody's told the robot that they're nonreturnable. I'm not buying them again. They smell like stink bug spray. Yuck! The butterscotch candy I bought previously had a weird, bourbon-like flavor aftertaste which probably was the butter flavoring they used. Didn't like those at all, so I wanted to try another manufacturer. I am so glad I did! These taste like the real deal, as they were made 60 years ago. The balance of lightly salted butter and the sweet caramelized sugar is delicious! They're so good, you'll have a hard time stopping at one!

I have been in search of butterscotch candy to replace Brach’s Butterscotch, now that you can no longer purchase this. This one comes pretty close, but it is still not the same. However, given that it comes in a 2 lb bag, it tastes pretty good after you eat the first pound,LOL. Then it becomes addictive. My only issue is that it only comes in this large bag that seems rather expensive. Not Brach’s but it is pretty darn good.

Flavorful and good value

I've become known as the butterscotch lady at church; kids who don't like chocolate love to get butterscotch from me. I limit them to 3 pieces apiece so as not to disrupt their appetite when they get home. My church has a two hour worship block, so three pieces nicely takes the edge off any growing hunger so that the kids are ready to eat when they get home and not whining and complaining all the way home about how hungry they are. Their little faces light up when I tell them they can take THREE pieces. To them it's a total treat! Even a few of the parents look longingly at the bag, and I let them have a piece or two also, and see their inner child light up with joy. A++++++
