Review: Cute series, daughter loves them - My 7 y/o loves this series, she looks forward to getting a chapter in at bedtime every night. She is able to read and follow the story completely on her own and it has kept her attention. The plot is adorable and entertaining. Highly recommend. Review: Great first chapter book - My 2nd grade son just loves these books. He read all the Dragon Master books which are part of the same Branches book series. Though he prefers the dragon books these fire hawk books are a close second. The vocabulary in the Firehawk books is a little more challenging than the Dragon Master books but still at a second graders level. They are engaging, quick paced and have great illustrations that have totally hooked my son into reading. Each night he begs to read these books before sleep when before it was a struggle to get him to WANT to read. Overall a good series to hook young readers!

Perfect blend of adventure & adorablly cute animals to enrapture both my kids
my 5 year old son & 6 year old daughter LOOOOVE this series. We are on number 3 and they've each been amazing. It's the perfect blend of adventure & daring for both my kids to be on the edge of their seat. The only con is I have to have enough time to start & finish it in the same sitting because my kids will not wait to hear the end. It's that good. My daughter could read most of this on her own but it's something we enjoy as a family so I can't rate it's reading level for independent reading.

Great chapter book!
My 2nd grade son just loves these books!! He has read the first 5 in less than a month. I used to struggle to get him to read anything but now he takes his book every where he goes. He is interested and engaged in this series! Thank you so much!

A book series that launched my 8 year old's love of reading
FINALLY! A book series that launched my 8 year old's love of reading! The illustrations are amazing and on every page, which keep kids' interested. Adventure, cliffhangers, great character development, and exciting storyline. The vocabulary is easy enough for a 2nd grader and the book is less than 100 pages, which creates a sense of accomplishment ("Mom! I finished the book already!"). I spied my resistant reader totally absorbed in the book, reading late into the night and early the next morning, which was so fun to see. Can't wait until book 3 is available!

Helping give my son an admiration for reading
Book was new and great condition. My 8 year old son loves this series. Itโs adventurous and has pictures on every page to help him activate his imagination. He will crank out these books in 1-2 days. Reading level for him is maybe somewhere between easy and moderate.

A great series to start with your young ones
My almost six-year-old daughter got the first book of the series from her older cousin. She loved it so we bought the rest of the series. As a lover of fantasy books, it makes me happy to see my daughter excited about a series. This series has adventures, suspense, out-of-this-world setting, strong friendship, but light enough for her that she doesn't get scared. We always look forward to reading a chapter or two before bedtime.

Our kids love the last Firehawk book series
We had already read two different unrelated Scholastic book series. Scholastic first chapter books work for us as they have lots of pictures (usually one per page) and yet the storyline is always captivating. We want to introduce chapter books without many pictures, but these books are perfect for the transition from picture books to chapter books (picture books are rather expensive if you need a new one every night). They LOVE the characters and even more so LOVE guessing what will happen next. Whenever possible we use the Kindle edition and broadcast it to our TV via our Amazon Firebox (via wireless projection) so that everyone can see the text and the pictures. Unfortunately not all the books are available for Amazon Kindle, so some books we had to buy as hard paper and we are running out of space in our bookshelves as we have sooo many books, so we prefer electronic copies. Electronic copies also allow us to share it onto their Amazon Fire tablets for kids. Again, loved all of our kids and we have different ages and "grasp of the world".
