Quality Control Issues
I purchased two sets of these dishes for my family (at the same time). One set came as described, the other was full of manufacturing defects that should have been caught with adequate quality control. It's almost as if they came from two manufacturers with differing standards. A couple had small holes in the glaze that would allow liquid into the inside of the vessel. Two plates had glaze that didn't reach the edges (the other 6 went right to the edges). Several items had rough chunks on the unglazed foot that were not sanded off. A few had bumps where an air bubble escaped the glaze and left a hole in the finish. One set of bowls had lines on the inside where the glaze was not applied evenly all the way around. Overall, the dishes were well-packaged, none broken, color was nice (though not as saturated as the images), and they feel sturdy. This is my third different set of Pfaltzgraff dishes and the first I've had any major issues with. I've ordered a replacement set and hope it will be like the other.
