Alright, I go through padlocks like they’re going out of fashion. I don’t treat them gently — they’re permanently exposed to the elements — so they tend to fail sooner rather than later. That said, the quality of this one compared to others is immediately noticeable. It’s one of those moments where you think, “Oh yeah, this is actually nice to use.” The lock has a reassuring weight to it — solid and heavy-duty — but not so much that it’s impractical. You wouldn’t want it in your pocket all day, but for a gate or outdoor use, it feels spot on. I bought this because my previous lock (also a Master Lock, but a more basic laminated style) had become stiff and awkward to open over time. This one is the complete opposite. The key goes in smoothly, turns easily, and it pops open cleanly and assertively — no forcing, no fiddling. That alone makes a big difference in daily use. Is it more expensive than you’d ideally like? Probably. Around £13 for a gate padlock feels a bit steep at first. But once you factor in ease of use, build quality, and reliability, it starts to make sense. After using it, my opinion on the price changed completely — I’d happily buy another one in a heartbeat. If it ever lets me down, I’ll update the review — but so far, I’m genuinely impressed. 👍

Seems like a good product, very sturdy and looks like it is proofed against weather, but only time will tell if it will not get rusty and will not stuck.

Good lock however I came to find someone had tried to pick/ break the lock via the key slot and I could no longer use the key to unlock it due to the key hole being damaged by a screwdriver and hammer or poor picking attempt. Obviously the lock never gave out however not being able to unlock it again prove to be a pain and i had to destroy it with an angle grinder so good for stopping access bad for use after an attempted robbery. The small flap that covers the keyhole is also quite susceptible to falling off randomly which doesent affect the lock so much but does(I assume since it's there for a reason) hinder the weather proof ability

A well made lock. Time will tell if it stands up to the weather whilst sitting on the top of my oil tank.

Very good strong lock....used for my bolted gate. Comes with a few extra keys, and a little flap underneath covers the keyhole which I guess prevents moisture/rust. Great!

Great lock weathers well
