I use this to charge the batteries on the rotating part of an observatory dome. When parked, the dome sits over the transmit coil and uses the power to charge the batteries. I find the throughput to be quite efficient - the output current and voltage quite closely matches the input , which I was quite surprised about. I would like to see some high permeability cores used to back the coils since they are not rigid, just taped. The connections need packaging/casing to protect them long term and I suggest use of terminals rather than soldered connections because there will be some manipulation while fitting. I tried these on the bench using motors of varying sizes as the load. Time for it to be fitted on the dome.
