What is the best before date?

I can’t find any best before date on the package but I’ve made the rice (And I’m picky abt my rice!) and it’s excellent

Is the dried rice meant to smell musty? I’m used to supermarket Basmati and while the grains are insanely long, it smells a bit odd when dry.

The smell is the reason Basmati rice is favoured for making Biriyani. Supermarket Basmati is of inferior quality as it has no fragrance!
