Mega Construx Probuilder Space Rober Expedition

As a long time Lego fan, I decided to branch out and purchase this set. At around $23 at the time of purchase, it was a great value. I know that MegaBloks/Contrux sets had quality issues in the past, but this set was a drastic improvement from the sets I had experienced years ago (10+ years). The tolerances and fitment are spot on, and pieces give a nice snap and click when put into place. This build was very fun, with lots of pieces and no stickers. All the graphics are printed, and a majority of the pieces have a cool marbled color, which Mega definitely has going for it over Lego (stickers suck). This set has a lot of functionality and play features for kids, and the figures included are much more intricate than I expected. Overall, very impressed with the build quality and experience of this set. My only complaint is that there are often multiple colors of the same piece (ex: a marbled, black, and dark gray version of a 2x1 plate) to be used in different locations, where color does matter. Just be careful to verify which color you're supposed to be using in each step. Other than that, no missing pieces, and very happy with my purchase. I would highly recommend this unique set (nothing else on the market like it at the moment), and look forward to purchasing more from Mega.

LOL only an amateur would complain that the bags are not labeled!!! Amazing set worth every penny, dont listen to people like Max.. This is a sweet set for such a cheap price, get sone music on and make a drink while you build, this set will make some great memories!!!!! 10 / 10

You're definitely getting a good bargain for this set. The amount of pieces that's included is worth more than the price here, so that's the plus side. I'm taking off 1 star due to this flaw (and no, it's not for missing pieces or stuff that can easily be replaced by the manufacterer). The tires get their suspension from 6 rubber tubes that are connected above the wheels section. Those parts push the wheels down, so when you put the vehicle down, the wheels "goes up" but those rubber tubes are loose. They come off their connecting joints minutes to hours after attaching them. It has very little grip, so unless you hotglue it or something onto the plastic piece, it will always become loose and disconnect over time.

After getting this, I'd buy every single item in this space exploration series, if there were any. Very high quality set in materials, design, and customizability. Construction time is quite extensive, took several hours to complete. Some other reviewer pointed out that it would help to have numbered bags for each sub-assembly, but Lego has a patent for this (crazy, right?). Minor negative thing would be that rubber tubes used for suspension have to be reconnected occasionally, but not to often, and a little DYI fixed this). Overall, the set is fun to build, has high playability, and can even be a display piece due to high posability and detail. Extremely recommended!

I love the rover kit. It is highly detailed and pretty straight forward to construct. Nice piece to add to anyone's space collection.

This is a product that my kid was looking for and Amazon sellers came through. Box that it came in and playability is worth the price.

Biggest CON about this set is that it comes WITHOUT numbered packaging. You basically have to open up every package and there are 20+ and figure out where to start with step one in the direction booklet. Worked on it for several hours today and we aren't even half way done. The pieces also do not fit as well as brand name Legos do. Neat looking toy, but would not buy it again.

one of the best building block sets! i really like its Vibe of low sifi like interstellar, but not so hard core sifi like starwars. It got many realistic elements in and pretty convincing if you say it exists in real world. it is sophisticate and detailed, the design of the suspension is simple yet efficient, genius ! not to mention it got the mini figure that far superior than their lego counter part, in every way. i don't understand why the price is so low.

This set is beautiful and my 6 years old son has been able to build it. Only small issue is about wheels. If you don't play with it, just build as per instruction. If kids are going to play with it once built, you need to take off the "suspension" and place the wheels slightly differently. Else the suspension tends to come off on some wheels and it is not easy to play with. But overall love it!

First of all, there are no numbering of the bags, so you need patience to sort out the pieces. Secondly the fitting of the pieces could be better, some of the tolerances are a little off. Thirdly, the fixture of the axle using a rubber hose as a shock absorber is creative but it won't last as the pin fitted to the hose will slip off due to the weight from the vehicle itself. So you might need to glue some parts just to keep it from falling apart. But....if you can live with these setback, this set is great, super posable, diorama, etc.
