I am looking for a good tester for underfloor concrete floor. Would this do or is it only for wood?

It is for wood only. It has settings for different types of wood. Instructions say you can use it for testing paper and card or other fibrous material.

Can I use this device to check cement walls for moisture?

Sorry, it's just used to test the wood. But you can have a try.

Will this work for checking caravans for damp?

Yes, I bought it to check my Motorhome and boat. Works well, easy to use.

I had some water leak into my basement and a small section of caprpeting get wet. Can this tell me if it as well as the padding is dry now?

Not for me.

I bought this mainly for plaster walls etc in flats I view, unfortunately not really any use for that. It's for wood ! So not really something to cart around to property viewings.

J'ai acquis cet article pour mesurer l'humidité d'un plafond suite à un dégât des eaux, avant mise en peinture. Le rapport qualité/prix me semble correct Je ne suis pas un professionnel, mais à minima le testeur fait la différence entre un mur sec = 0% et la partie humide actuellement à 2 ou 3% A l'usage, ce testeur méritera peut-être une quatrième étoile, mais je n'ai pas encore assez de recul

Ich habe den Feuchtemesser bisher an zwei Materialien gebraucht und somit getestet. Kaminholz, frischer Stapel mit hohem Feuchtegrad und bereits längere Zeit gelagerten Holz, sowie eine feuchte Stelle an meiner Kellerwand nach tagelangem Regen. Da man dem Holz nicht unbedinbgt die Feuchtigkeit ansieht, ist es sehr hilfreich genau das richtige für den Kaminbrand zu nehmen. Die Feuchtigkeit in der Wand ist jetzt besser einzugrenzen, damit ich, natürlich von außen, entspredchende Maßnahmen durchführen kann.
