Amazon Aware Woodcased #2 Pencils, Pre-Sharpened, 144 pack, Gray

There are SO MANY garbage pencils out there, and these are NOT those. Considering their price point, they write darkly enough and are surprisingly smooth. Smooth varnish, the lead is strong but not overly hard. I've not had a point break yet, and it lasts a good amount of time between sharpenings. They also sharpen really well; even if you go for the long sharpening, they perform excellently. Three CAVEATS: 1) They are the SLIGHTEST bit thinner than other pencils you may be used to, so if you really don't like marginally thinner pencils, they may not be for you. I barely notice the difference when I write, and now I don't notice it at all. 2) I'm not 100% sure how well they'd fair on an optical-reader for tests. They may be dark enough, but I prefer something a little darker than these. 3) THESE PENCILS DO NOT HAVE ERASERS. You can see it in the picture, but people may overlook that, and as of the last time I looked, I didn't see this noted in the description. So you'll either need a slip-on cap eraser, or you'll need a separate one. I'm sure this is to save on the cost, but consider if this is a priority for you or whoever will ultimately be using them. SUMMARY: They're really great pencils; they harvest the wood sustainably but don't have erasers.

I just finished the last of these pencils after nearly 2 school years. (I'm a teacher.) They are fantastic! Pre-sharpened and great quality for when they need to be sharpened again. They DO NOT HAVE ERASERS, but I happen to have a lot of eraser caps. They were such a great deal that I am buying them again.

Our school district usually purchases Ticonderoga pencils; however, we've noticed that the tips break more easily, students often break off the erasers, and they don’t hold up well in pencil sharpeners. In contrast, the Amazon pencils seem to be of higher quality— the tips are stronger, there are no erasers to destroy, and they are less expensive. Highly recommend these pencils. ✏️

I bought these pencils to give to my son’s teachers because he loses them so often. The write well. The only drawback is they do not have erasers. I was able to find some erasers in bulk to add to the pencils.

Well made and sharpen great. No cheaply made

These are beautiful wood pencils! I like that they have a natural wood look to them. They come sharpened already, but they also sharpen well with a typical pencil sharpener. Sometimes you get these pencils and it's like the wood is mixed with epoxy or glue and they are tough to sharpen with a pencil sharpener. These aren't like that. The ends do not have erasers. But in my situation the kids usually just destroy the eraser anyway and they use a separate large eraser to erase. I figure with these, I'm just skipping straight to that part! They are so affordable too! Love these pencils, will keep buying these when I run out.

As a teacher using my own money, these were cheaper than buying golf pencils. They do not have erasers, which is fine. I have a huge supply of tip erasers and these are for "borrowing" (which means I probably won't get them back).

Love these pencils. They do not come with erasers which is perfect for art students that erase a lot. For less than $8 I bought these white erasers that will last longer than other pencil’s erasers. Perfect combo!
