Love these lamp timers as they are easy to use & are a fair price. I have only used on lamps so I cannot comment about appliances. Recommend purchasing.

I bought this to replace a model I'd used every day for many years. I worked nights, and it turned on the living room light while I was gone, then turned it off, if I stayed for overtime. It finally wore out. I tried a cheaper brand, but it wasn't reliable. Sometimes it would come on, and not go off, or never come on at all. This brand does cost a little more, but I don't have to worry about it working.

Beat timer! Why? Because you can turn it to the "on" position and it will still turn off as scheduled. We use it for our fish tank and sometimes turn it on early when guests are coming. Not to worry. It will turn off at the scheduled time which is what we like. Our old timer did not do that and, by mistake, I turned it on before we left for a few days. When we got home the tank was filled with algae and the poor fish had lights 24/7.

Good timer once "fixed". The tabs on the green ON pegs don't reach out far enough to turn the ON - OFF rotary switch. But it is easy to fix with a pair of pliers to bend the vertical leg outwards slightly. It then works perfectly well.
