I'm not sure exactly how much weight it will support but it seems very sturdy. It holds my resin curing machine just fine.

Would it work to use two of them side by side for a large project?

You probably could use two side by side for a large project if you also leveled them together with a long bar level. I believe a large board on top of one table would work just as well. However it would depend on the size of mold you are working with.
