This elegantly packed three book box set comprising the hard cover editions of Uday S Kulkarni's three books 'The Era of Bajirao, 'The Extraordinary Epoch of Nanasaheb Peshwa' and 'The Mastery of Hindustan: Triumphs &Travails of Madhavrao Peshwa', pre-signed by the author are offered as a Collector's edition. Together the three books have over 1500 pages and cover the period of Indian and Maratha history from the start of the eighteenth century to 1772. The three books together have several dozen art plates with over a hundred colour pictures, several maps illustrating the history of the time, with over 2500 references, several appendices, footnotes, genealogies and an introduction to principal characters of each book. Outstanding, splendid, and frankly, underpriced.
Dr. Uday Kulkarni is truly a scholar of the highest order. He writes in an impersonal, scientific, yet interesting manner, that makes every book a journey to go through. These books describe the 18th century, when the Marathas became the dominant power in India, and Shivaji Maharaj's dream was realized. The maps, family trees, and chronological events are well presented, and even speculation is described so at different places. Such a consolidated, impartial, yet well-written body of knowledge will soon become an important reference for future scholars.

One of the best books by the author Dr. Uday S Kulkarni on the triumphs and careers of the most capable Peshwa's in the Maratha history with proper details.

Misleading price
We would expect some price reduction while purchasing a box set. However it's overpriced. When one opens the box and totals up the price of each book it comes to 2770. However this box set costs โน3295. Is the publisher charging for the cardboard box almost โน500 plus? Strange.
