The color transitions are vibrant and glossy, and the silk finish gives prints a premium, eye-catching look straight off the printer. The filament is well packaged and clearly labeled, and we’ve found it to print smooth and clean with good layer adhesion and consistent extrusion. It performs well on standard PLA profiles with minimal tuning and delivers reliable results, even on more decorative models where appearance matters most. That said, there are a few downsides: The price per 1 kg roll is quite high, which makes it harder to justify for large production runs. It goes out of stock frequently, and maintaining par levels can be challenging—both through Amazon supply and when sourcing directly from the manufacturer. Sales and discounts are rare, and it almost never drops in price. Despite these limitations, this filament really shines for specialty and seasonal prints. We don’t use it for everyday production due to cost and availability, but for holiday décor, gifts, and festive prints, it’s a standout option. Overall, we really like this filament and will continue to use it—especially when we want that distinctive Christmas candy cane aesthetic that turns heads.

This prints great on a Bambu printer and the color comes out so vibrant and beautiful

(review of the Blue Red Yellow Green fast color change) Like the other Amolen filaments I've tried, this prints beautifully with default settings. I had no trouble with adhesion, stringing, etc., and the silk surface is pleasantly shiny. This is a high quality, well behaved filament. The fast color change is extremely fast, so the models come out with pronounced stripes; this might actually look better for smaller models. The large pieces are frankly hideous. I'm not knocking off any stars because it looks exactly as described, I just don't love the look. I recommend looking at product photos before ordering.

I’ve tried a lot of filaments, but this AMOLEN dual-color silk PLA really stands out. The red and gold blend looks absolutely gorgeous — it gives every print a premium, metallic look without any extra painting or polishing. The color shift changes beautifully depending on the light and angle, which makes models look dynamic and professional. Printing performance was excellent too. It fed smoothly, no tangles, and stuck well to the bed with minimal stringing. I didn’t have to tweak my normal PLA settings much — just slightly lowered the temperature for that perfect silky shine.

I love the colors and how it prints, wish they would make the spools a little wider to be more compatible with all filament systems. A lot of issues in the CFS due to the rolls being too narrow. I run cool plates and the adhesion is good. Running small fine prints it can be a little brittle. I would suggest drying the filament as it can string a bit at 45-50% humidity.

Beautiful! Recommend setting the heat slightly higher so the black mixes with the silver properly!

Printed great in the Flashforge AD5M and looks really cool in different lighting

This PLA silk filament has a really unique look, I’d describe it as a muted silver rainbow with a glossy, almost metallic finish. It especially stands out on moving prints like fidget pieces, where the gradient shift really shows. Quick verdict: Great print quality and finish with minimal issues, just keep an eye on spool winding during your printing. ✅ What I liked: -High success rate. Even smaller, more fragile prints came out clean without brittleness or breakage. -Strong color & finish. Opaque with a smooth, glossy shine that really highlights the color transition. -Good bed adhesion. On a clean, smooth PEI bed, I didn’t experience warping or lifting. -Easy to print with. Didn’t require any major setting adjustments to get good results. -Minimal stringing: Very clean prints so far. (Recommended temp range: 210–240°C) ⚠️ Things to consider: Spool winding issue: About a quarter into the roll, I started noticing the filament loosening and unwinding on the spool, which can affect feed consistency if not watched closely. ⭐ Tips for use: -Because of the winding issue, I wouldn’t leave long prints unattended. -Check periodically during prints to prevent tangling or feed interruptions. ⭐️Best for decorative prints and display pieces. Fidgets, mechanical prints, and geometric prints where movement highlights the color shift. Beginners and experienced users both looking for a visually striking filament will likely appreciate this filament. Overall, this product delivers really nice results in both appearance and print quality. The winding issue is something to be aware of, but it hasn’t outweighed the overall performance for me. I liked it enough to purchase a second spool for once I run out! I’d recommend it to others looking for a silk filament with a unique finish. ⭐️ I included photos to show print quality & gradient colors, particularly in fidget models.
