Great Sound
I bought this because, of course, Texas, some of the music is old-timey, but it grew on me, because the sound is GREAT. I was surprised, so many of the tracks sound like they were recorded yesterday, not 50-60 years ago! (Oddly enough, the Buddy Holly recording sounds dull by comparison, obviously an '80's master). Includes some fascinating early songs by future stars, in their rockabilly period. So nice to get this music and hear it with the impact it must have had live. I haven't seen a compilation like this produced in Texas itself, so they did a good job issuing these CDs. ( And, lest the CD title seem misleading, technically, Doug Sahm, whose 'Crazy Daisy' is included, was later in The Texas Tornados group).

Texas Tornados ってタイトルだけどDoug Sahm (1曲入ってる)のグループではなく、'55−'60年のテキサスロックンロール(多くが無名ロカビリー)のシングル盤コンピ。LP2枚組32曲、カラーの両面解説インサート1枚付き、1箇所プレスミスでモロなノイズ。CDは50曲らしい。ジャケ写はCricketsでグラサン掛けてるのがBuddy Hollyらしい。そのせいか、1曲目が彼らの超有名曲(蛇足だと思う)。レコード起こしの音はデジタル補整入ってるみたいだが、良くないのも有る。アナログだとあまり気にならない。ピックアップして聞くにはCDの方が有利、曲数も多い。ロカビリーファンには当然お薦め、買った値段で言えば五つ星。
