Do I need a stand if I set it on pavers or dirt?

You don’t need a stand. Ours sits on pavers by our pool without a stand.

Can I use this on a deck safely? Or should it be in the grass/ground

I have read both in the In instructions and other information on their website the following. Do not put the stove on a wooden deck unless it is raised up on bricks or other non flammable material since the bottom of the stove gets very hot. I am not an expert on this stove but I do believe the manufacturer warnings.

I live in new england where it gets below freezing.. Could this keep 10 people comfortable in the winter for a few hours?
