Is this junction box switchable?

There is no switch on the junction box, it is operated by the light switch.

How many downlights could connect to this junction box? Would 6 connect or should I order 2 boxes.

I just connected one down light to one box. I guess the number of connections would depend on the thickness of the "down" flex and how many flexes would fit through the down end of the box and how many wires could be connected simultaneously to the "down" terminals. Two connections may be possible but not six. Even with two boxes six will be tight.

What size hole will it fit through

The product sizes are 12.4 x 6.2 x 2.59 cm - so if you want it to fit through a holethen it should go through a 6.5cm hole. However, remember this is a junction box FOR a downlighter NOT a Downlighter itself. When I used it it was for joining the supply for two strip lights and screwed to a batton in a shed. Hope that helps.

No, these are not maintenance free wherever it is fitted. For a similar maintenance free product you will need the J804 model.
