It is indeed a loud horn!
We actually purchased 2 different horns (this one and another from a different vendor) and we can attest that this one is indeed loud enough ( a lot louder than a car horn, but not a real life train horn), the other one we purchased was similar to a regular car horn in regards to the decibels, although it was being advertised as a train horn. This FARBIN horn will definitely make people notice you and/or get out of the way, what makes this one louder than the other one we bought, is that this one is an Air horn. Now, just to ensure that no one is misled by this review, I would like to add that we have a friend who had a set of 3 "train-hornblasters" professionally installed and you can not be standing next to his vehicle when those are triggered (but he paid quite a bit of money for those). So, although this FARBIN "train-sounding" horn is fairly loud, it is not at the same level of our friend's. Nonetheless, for the cost, it is a bargain that you can't pass and will not be disappointed. That is why we are giving it 5 starts and it is a keeper for us (we will update this review to see if it stands the test of time).

Crazy loud, easy to install.
Not hard to install if you are familiar with this kind of thing. Hardware included was good, instructions were readable, and this thing is freaking insane loud. I consider it a safety issue, having a horn that others can actually hear instead of just laugh at is a good idea. I have several cars, these are on all of them, 2 years plus in most cases and no problems to report. HINT: I hooked mine up using a relay tripped by the car's accessory buss (wire). That way the horn will only work when the car is running. Otherwise, the factory horn is all that is active. This way, if the security alarm ever goes off at 2am, you won't have the trumpet of God sounding off under your window. This also allows me to put a switch on the thing so I can disable it entirely if I choose.

Louder than stock, but not as loud a the giant train horns.
For the price point you wont find anything louder. Its compact so it will fit in a lot of places. Its more than loud enough. You cant expect this be as loud as those train horn kits, as it is a fraction of the size. For its size it is surprisingly loud. INSTALLATION: I did not use any of the wire harness. I attached the black wire to a bolt near the horn and ran the positive lead to my stock horn's positive lead. I used a large zip tie to secure it in place so not the most professional install, but professional enough for me. So far so good. I will update and complain if it breaks later. If its not updated and some time has gone buy assume it is still good.

Kinda wimpy sounding
Easy to set up on our 2006 Winnebago motor home but doesn’t sound like a train. However it does sound better than the factory installed horn.

Nice horn
Update Crap. Lasted 2 months. Loud. Had difficulty installing in my 2015 Jeep Wrangler. Finally installed f as cling down and using tie wrap to hold it. Sounds great.

Surprisingly excellent!
EDIT: My first one didn't survive some pretty rough roads on ten Idaho Back Country Discovery Route and this is my second one. We'll see how it holds up. I've used Hella electric air horns since the mid 80's and have always been happy with them. This has a much higher Db rating so I thought I'd give it a try... Super happy and completely satisfied with this horn. Loud, crisp and instantaneous when you hit the horn. The build quality is solid and installation was a snap. Two big thumbs up!

Loud. Installation was difficult on a motorcycle
If you want loud, this is it. I upgraded my Honda Shadow Areo's horn because I want other drivers to know that I'm coming. It's really loud, and that's what I wanted. Installing it on a motorcycle is a little difficult, but that's not Farbin's fault. You just don't have a lot of room to put the horn and routing the wire to the battery is a little difficult. I had to drill a hole to mount the relay. There's a picture of the wiring, which is the same as you see on the website. There are no instructions with clear definitions of what everything is, but if I can figure it out, I'm sure that you can, too.
