Beautifully sounding strings
excellent strings for acoustic guitars. Sound beautiful when fresh and new on the guitar. Hold tuning excellently and feel high-quality. I have no doubt that many famous musicians make use of these strings. Good value for money, excellent product.

First impression: I really like these strings
I've heard good things about these strings, and I thought I'd try them out as replacements for a set of D'Addario phosphor bronze EJ16 strings. Both sets of strings were medium light (12s). I was using a Faith Naked Mercury - a mid-range parlour sized guitar, which I mainly use for picking (a little strumming with fingers, but I don't generally use a plectrum). I don't know how this review would translate to a larger bodied guitar (but I intend to try them on a couple). My first impressions: I really like the tone. They don't have that jangly new sound of freshly changed strings, which doesn't really work well for my style of play. I'm not sure I'd describe them (as some others have) as "bright". They seem to have a fairly earthy sound to them. Good across the tonal range. Plenty of clarity, but not really brightness. They're a delight to play: responsive and tactile. I don't do much string bending, so can't comment on that. If you're doing simple fingerpicking (folk, blues, etc), these are definitely worth a shot. I've only had them on a day, so we'll have to see how they age (both in terms of tone and longevity), but, to be honest, the D'Addario strings were not great in that respect (and I don't like the Elixir nanocoated ones, which are long lasting but have that weird slippery feeling).

Perfect for my guitar
Been searching for a perfect string for my all solid wood Koa which is naturally bright sounding and very resonate. Most strings usually add to that natural brightness produces undesired tiny or metallic like overtones when playing more aggressively and in some cases even when less aggressive. As the guitar opened up it became more audible. So after testing out various string makes and gauges and avoidng under $10 string sets I decide to give these Ernie Ball Earthwoods 12-54 a try. Negatives...makes fingertips black and longer tha normal to settle in and stay in tune. Positive...no annoying overtones and gave my guitar a richer fuller mellow tone. I love these strings. The black on fingertips lessen after a day or so and the strings stay in tune. The guitar is resonating better than it ever has due to higher tension of these strings. Not for every guitar but for mine they are the best so far. It sounds amazing . 51 yrs of playing guitar I highly recommend these if you prefer a more warmer sound out of a guitar. I canรจt speak for their longevity yet but for this price I don;t care if they don't last as long as other strings. I might try the EB Phosphorus/Bronze just to see how they compare.
