As a god with few followers, Yato looks to build his wealth and reputation by taking on jobs to help folks in need. Someday Yato hopes to be worshipped by hordes of people and have spectacular shrines built in his honor. But for now, he simply needs to find some work and save up enough money to build his first shrine. No job is too small for Yato, the god-for-hire. Review: A**** - Great book Review: It's almost like if American Gods was set exclusively in Japan and was more "anime" - You know that mystery character from American Gods that nobody can remember? Well what if you based a story around him and set it in Japan. How does a god that requires belief to survive, do so when nobody can retain their memories of him? I marathon bought and read all the books in this series to date after watching the anime. This is not something that I normally do so this series occupies a special place in that regard. It does that thing that I like of mixing the mundane nature of the normal world with the other-worldliness of the other. Readers of Neil Gaiman's work or fans of the Bakamonogatari series will know that vibe. I say give it a shot. Despite already knowing most of the story from the anime I do not regret buying and reading the story in the "original" format.

Nice to meet you, Bishamon
I can't describe my love for Noragami with words and i love almost every character (i'm looking at you Nora... you ruined it). So i found it really awesome to get to see a lot more Bishamon and Kazuma in this volume. It was also lovely to see the bond growing between Yukine and Hiyori too... the forever friendship that can't be forgotten! I'd give it more than 5 stars if i could!

Still amazing
I love the anime and the manga but I couldn't get into the digital version. Although it does focus more on Bishamons story, it still develops Yatos. I have heard that the manga will not focus on Bishamons and then it will focus on the farshore so that should be really interesting! But yes if you're a fan of the story so far you should definitely buy volume 4.

Best one yet!
After tearing through the first three volumes, I hesitated buying this one based on other reviews, but l'm glad I finally did. This installment is the best in the series, in my opinion. First of all, this seems to be the point in which the anime storyline took a serious departure from the manga, so I feel like I really got my money's worth in extra character and story development. I didn't think I would enjoy hearing Bishamon's backstory but it really helps in understanding her character. Bishamon goes from being the simple antagonist who Is just out to settle a grudge with Yato to being a multi-dimensional complicated character who seeks revenge for the death of her shinki, in part to ease her own feelings of guilt. After reading this volume, I can see that Yato and Bishamon are very similar in that they care deeply for their shinkis, although this affection manifests itself in entirely different ways...Yato looks for that one spirit to form an unbreakable bond with whereas Bishamon takes more the crazy cat hoarder approach. We also see Yukine grow and mature since the ablution and get to know his hopes and fears regarding Hiyori. I felt like his part of the story got just as much play as Bishamon's and made him much more interesting and likeable. Looking forward to reading the next volume!
