The flat fold fits well into a pack and they don't add much weight to your pack on long trail rescues. I like to keep a roll of kling wrap and two triangular bandages with each splint. They are thinner than more expensive splints, but they mold to the body and provide ample support. The folds can be a bit difficult to get flat, but I've found it easier to put the "ridged" part facing away from the skin for comfort. They will last through a several hour extraction which is all they really need to do. They're easy to use, good quality for the price and that works pretty well for our volunteer team on a budget.

These are just like the ones I trained on. I expect they should work well stabilizing various injuries. Better to be prepared than not have the right emergency supplies. Get them.
