After pulling a ligament in my ankle during marathon training I wanted something that would offer my ankle support and stability. This does both. I’m a size 6 so opted for a medium as per the size guide and it’s fits perfectly. It’s a little awkward to get on at first, but loosen the laces and re-do them when on. The insert goes in front of your leg, not behind (oops) as I was first doing! The Velcro is strong so won’t come undone whilst running. It was also easy to wear over my sock and fitted into my trainer comfortably. I’ve only worn it on one short run, but so far I’m impressed. I wish it came with instructions on how to wash it though, as I’m a tad concerned about it getting smelly from being worn during my runs!

It took me a while to work out how to put the brace on as there were no instructions. However it does give good support once on. It takes a while but I think it will be worth it. I read on a health website that it is important to have a lace-up brace rather than an elasticated or Velcro one which do not give the same kind of support. After a sprained ankle I need to make sure I can wear shoes again without the risk of it giving way again. This brace gives me confidence to get out and about while it heals.I don't like the feel of the velcro straps under my foot but the brace does mean that I am totally unafraid that my ankle will go over again. It doesn't seem that well-made and might not last long considering it cost £20 but if it enables my ankle to get back to normal it will be worth it. It doesn't have to last longer than that.

Excellent ankle brace. I sustained a fairly bad sprain a few weeks ago, a bad grade 2. Bought this a week after, as my ankle felt quite unstable as well as very painful. This brace has been an absolute Godsend. I thought the laces might be a bit of a faff, and it's true that they do slow down the putting on in the morning a little, but in fact the lacing means you get a really good custom fit. I can't imagine not using this style if needed in future. The non stretchy side straps give great stability. I'm really glad I bought this. A bit more than the basic cheap ankle supports available, but half the price of the big branded ones. Excellent value for what it's doing for me. I'll be wearing it for protection some time yet I think, for off road dog walking (which was where the sprain occurred, on uneven ground). Highly recommended!

While this is a good product, and exactly as advertised, it turned out to be too complicated to use regularly. It takes an awful lot of time to loosen the laces, fit it around a tender joint, then tie them all up again. Which may not be a problem for someone with a different lifestyle, but didn't work for me having to put them on and take them off several times a day.

I have stretched ligaments in the left ankle and was regularly twisting my ankle when out walking the dog. I’ve tried a few ankle braces with just Velcro straps but they’re nowhere near as effective as this brace. The combination of the Velcro straps, plastic side supports and laces have saved me from twisting my ankle so many times that I can’t remember over the last couple of months. I can walk with confidence knowing that I won’t suffer any more pain from a twisted ankle again. I wear it from morning till evening, about 10-12 hours a day, every day without fail. The lace-ups can be awkward at first but you soon get into the hang of doing them up quickly if you persevere. I wear mine over socks and inside shoes and boots without it feeling too tight. Mine is starting to show some wear on the edges at the heal end so will be buying another soon.

2nd of this type of ankle support and slightly more expensive, unfortunately the quality, fit and support dont seem to be very good on this version in comparison

This is no doubt a good product and provides good stability. It’s value for money for sure but, wearing it whilst training led to a calf strain. Not relevant for most people but just beware of wearing it while training, in this case grappling (BJJ). I suffered a bad calf tear while wearing it.

This is the biggest waste of money yet. Unable to get it on properly, hardly any support for my healing new ankle operation. I’ve had to put it in the bin as it’s so badly made.

I sprained my ankle a couple weeks ago and the doctor said I needed something a little more sturdy than the sleeve I had been wearing. After going to the normal pharmacies I didn't see anything that would work. Then I came across this gem. It's perfect, easy to use, and shipped quickly. There wasn't directions but it's easy enough to figure out. It really keeps my ankle stable during the day and it's not as sore at night. It is a little bulky so can't really fit into all my boots but it's a small sacrifice to make to heal properly.
