Studying for a qualification, want to gain more knowledge or curious about early years childhood development for your own children?Then this book is for you!I bought this when I was studying my level 3 in early years.This is fantastic. Yes we can use the Internet but if you like a good old fashion book, you want relaible information, resources and learn better this way. This is the book you need.It is very informative, it has helped me to gain my qualifications and where I need to be today.The book itself is very sturdy, has such a range of important information that you will need when gaining knowledge and qualifications in childcare.Printing quality is great, it makes it easy to read and easy to find different topics or information you need.It is higher in price, but this is the book that is recommended by experts and ealry years advisers when studying.

Might be outdated a little now but definitely helps with the studying.

This is the book my tutor at college suggested us to buy, and it is absolutely invaluable. I am currently doing the Children & Young People's Workforce Level 3 Diploma, and the whole course is largely based around this exact book- we constantly refer to it and write assignments on it. In fact, without this book I cannot see how studying the course can be as conducive. All your answers to every question regarding my childcare course are in this book. I am not religious, but with regards to my studying- this book is my bible. It arrived pretty quickly and does exactly what it says on the tin! Worth every penny if I gain my Level 3. Just one more thing- when my assessor handed back my marked assignments (which I had written with the help of this book), she said they were 'perfect'. I rest my case. Worth every penny.

Book is great but in description it says it as a cd with book but there is no cd rom in the book

I was in two minds as to whether to but the book, it was difficult getting hold of a copy in both my college and local libraries and at around £20 with money being very tight I just wasn't sure. However I was really stuck on some of the core units and after reading some very helpful reviews on here I decided to buy it. Absolutely no regrets, it was worth every penny. I'm not doing the early years pathway so I had to go elsewhere to research the pathway and optional units (again why the price put me off) but it certainly got me through the core units. And I also noticed that it will hold a good value if you want to sell it on when you are finished. Good luck to all currently studying x

For those studying the Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce, this book is a goldmine. It covers pretty much every core unit (and has information you might need for optional units aswell). It is also useful for any childcare professional - whether they be studying or already in practice - as well as anyone interested in childcare in general. Everyone on my course has made the request to our tutors to switch the course textbook from the one they currently use to this one. It is, simply put, invaluable.

I was struggling with this course until I was recommended this book. It is perfect - Set out in the same modules as the course and is concise and direct and is very easy to understand. I wasnt going to bother with a text book and just use the internet but now that I have this book I can confidently say that I actually enjoy doing the work and look forward to passing this course with flying colours I hope

If you study this, it is definitely worth buying the book. Even if you aren't, it is fairly easy to read - similar to a text book but well written. It is easy to understand, lots of information and a great great asset to the course. It's all you need to know when you study this course. Only thing that's missing is the optional units but actually that's mainly research we have to do ourselves anyway!
