I previously used Bollsen earplugs which I found comfortable and effective, but I thought I would see if a cheaper brand was comparable. I did a fairly unscientific test of wearing these new Alpine earplugs and listening to a song on my phone. I compared the Bollsen to the Alpine by adjusting the volume until I couldn't hear the song and found that there was very little difference between the two. I would say the Bollsen reduce noise by perhaps a few decibels more (less than one press of the volume button). That being said, I have worn the Bollsen many times, so they have conformed to my ears, and the Alpine are still brand new, so I suspect in a couple of weeks there will be no difference. Regardless, I actually find the Alpine pair more comfortable and hardly notice them at all, even as a side sleeper. They also stay in very well. I ended up using the M/L size, but I actually think I could probably get away with using the smaller ones as well. These are significantly cheaper than the Bollsen, which are £27 each, or less if you are willing to multi-buy and they are on sale (usually £16 per pair at the cheapest). I will be saving my money and sticking with these Alpine in future! Regarding those who have rated these earplugs poorly, it may be an issue of sizing, improper insertion, or not realising that earplugs simply do not block out all sound (and you wouldn't really want them to in case of emergency)! They significantly reduce most disruptive noises, including my fan and traffic outside. For insertion, I like to do a test. After I insert earplugs I rub my thumb and fingers together (kind of the 'money' gesture) and hold it up to my ears. If I can hear it, they are not inserted correctly and I try to adjust them.

Comfortable and stay in my ear. The noise reduction is just enough for me to be able to sleep through my partner's snoring, so far all good. The one annoying thing about these is the tag to pull them out has broken on a few occasions and when this happens, the plug gets stuck in my ear and is difficult to get out, which makes me panic because I tend to push it in further trying to get it out. So I find myself changing them quite frequently to avoid this and getting way less then the 100 uses, more like 20 uses.

Brilliant. I live on a busy road and can't sleep with the windows open. With these I have been able to sleep with all the windows open in the hot weather. They don't block 100% of noise, but for me wearing them its the same as noise level as having the windows closed.

These are quite comfortable. I am able to lie on them to sleep 😴. Unlike others I have tried. Flexible and easy to wash. Handy case to keep them in. Muffles sound, doesn't block it out completely. Update.... Had them a year now, wear them for bed at night, but unfortunately they have started to break, so cannot use them anymore, as I am worried they will get stuck in my ear if the tab breaks off, when pulling them out.

This is the first pair of earplugs I've bought and I'm very, very impressed with them. The mother-in-law bought a puppy that spends all night barking, but I just pop these in and I can fall asleep no problem! They are comfortable, easy to clean and the multi pack means you don't have to worry about buying the wrong size. Will definitely be buying more in the future!

I did not find these were very good. I ordered the multi pack size as was not sure what size I needed. The small is tiny, I would say for a child. They are comfortable to wear when sleeping but did not reduce noise very much at all, I have stopped using them as I brought them for a quiet night sleep and they did not help at all.

brilliant at cancelling noise, great value for money especiallly since there are two pairs of different sizes that i was able to give away and comes in a small portable case. very versatile because i can use it throughout the day even if that wasn't the intention. I'm able to sleep on my side just fine and quietens or silences most noises that bother me

Estos tapones se han convertido en mi objeto esencial para dormir. Al principio, me molestaban bastante porque no estaba acostumbrada a usar tapones que se insertan. Incluso había veces que me despertaba con uno de ellos en la mano y con molestias dentro del oído. Sin embargo, una vez que te acostumbras y los usas a diario, funcionan de maravilla. No crean ese vacío incómodo donde escuchas tu yo interior. En cambio, dejan entrar un poco de ruido externo, pero es tan leve que no te molesta ni te distrae, personalmente ese mínimo ruido es lo que me permite dormir bien ya que se que escucharé la alarma y no me quedaré dormida. (Uso la talla S, la M es muy grande para oídos pequeños)

I’ve had a pair of the Loops Quiet (version 1) for a year and although they’re decent, these alpine dream sleep were SO MUCH COMFIER. I’m a side sleeper and these ones don’t stick out of my ear or have any “hard” parts, they’re sort of an oval shape compared to a more circular one so they fit in my ear better. They’re quite soft and easy to put in. As for sound blocking I can hear my alarms and some other sounds but it blocks out a lot of background noise - I’m a light sleeper and it really helps me relax and not feel like I’m gonna hear something to wake me up. I can sort of hear some snoring but very muffled. And they stay put in my ears all night - sometimes my other ones would slip out. Have been sleeping pretty solidly whenever I have them in and that’s usually a problem for me.

La solución a los ruidos molestos de mis vecinos. Tengo unos vecinos muy gritones y que tienen un perro súper enfadoso igual que ellos y con los tapones ya no los oigo, tampoco oigo voces de personas hablando en mi casa incluso no he oído mi alarma o llamadas que suenan hasta mucho tiempo después si logro escuchar. No tapa por completo el sonido por eso me es posible oír la alarma o llamadas pero muy muy leve por eso no se confíen en usarlos cuando tengan que oír alarma o cálenle un día a ver si la oyen Además , no son molestos para dormir del lado, he dormido sin problema pero si los uso cuando no debo poner alarma al siguiente día
