Why does the voltage drop to 6V when hot? It works fine for a few minutes then drop when it get hot and could not deliver enough voltage to charge.

The high temperature becomes hot, indicating that the PTC inside the transformer has started the temperature protection function. The transformer will not work again until the temperature cools down after the protection function is started Are you overloaded?

I would check with the manufacture minimum voltage requirements. It may work, but with limited results. I would replace with the transformer that was installed with the system.
