Is the cover actually real leather or is it faux (fake) leather as stated in bulletproof point #1?

It's faux leather but it really feels real. Not like other faux leather I have experienced

I think it would work just fine. The pages are thick enough to handle the extra ink that fountain pens put down.

Not that I saw. The binding seemed pretty secure. I don't know if the Vendor has a thicker version. It could be worth contacting them. Best of luck to you. Hope this was helpful.
