Scripted lessons give the teacher direction and confidence, while exquisite pencil reproductions of great paintings are used to encourage children in oral composition. Originally published as a single two-year volume, Level 1 (Grade 1, this book) and Level 2 (Grade 2, available separately) have been redesigned as two separate simple-to-use one-year programs. Grade Recommendation: Grade 1. Review: Really like this book - Really like this book. We are still only on lesson 12 but my boys (7 and 5) both like it because the lessons are short, they are spoken so it isn't too formal and they enjoy the memorizing the poems. Its also easy to use as the dialogue is all spelt out for you. Little repetitive in parts but you can skip ahead if you want to. Review: love it - My son and I are following it and we are loving it! It's very helpful for me to have everything already planned so I can just get on with it.

Good to start with, but repetitive
I bought this for home educating my five year old after she had been deregistered from school, as we enjoy The Story Of The World and hoped this would be a good structured course for her. Well, it is structured, and at first it seems impressive, but it is far too repetitive. She could recite the definition of a noun within a couple of days, and the rest didn't go much further. We will dip in for useful ideas, but it really isn't as exciting as Story Of The World.
