Tamagotchi Friends - Dalmatian

I bought this because I was feeling nostalgic, and it was definitely worth it. Shipping was faster than estimated, which was great. When I opened the package, bits of the box were sellotaped, which was a bit baffling. However, everything else was in it's place and it worked great. Had to charge some AAA batteries, because I wasn't expecting it to be so chunky and require batteries (when I was a child it was the circle battery in these). But I love my Tamagotchi.

Enjoyed by four year old, but novelty soon wore off due to poor screen quality. Not as good as the original 90's toy. Equally, not a terrible toy. Ideal stocking filler, not a long term toy in my opinion.

Terrible !! You can't see a thing on this screen I wish I have wasted my money. The tamagotchis from years ago are better. Can't believe how rubbish this product is. Very disappointed little girl

It is like the classic Tamagotchi but now it is bigger and uses AAA batteries instead of those really awkward flat ones that you can never seem find around the house. The buttons are easier to press and are no longer made of rubber like the older versions. It has some fun mini games that I got a bit addicted to for a while. There is an option to pause while for when you can't take care of it. A bit like a vacation mode. I enjoyed playing it but just like the Tamagotchis I had before this one, it gets old after a couple of months.

I lost this Tamagotchi before Christmas so my child never had the chance to realise the true power of it! My rule is if I lose something before I've opened it I have to leave 5 stars purely because of my own stupidity and in fairness to the seller I am stupid.

After commenting in another post, I thought I'd add a full review. The screen size is not the problem with this Tamagotchi: it's the contrast setting. Even at its lowest setting, the screen background is still a dark grey and the character is a darker grey: it's really difficult to see and nowhere near as clear as the photo shows it to be. In brighter light, where a reflection from the back of the screen ought to help, the reflection from the clear front prevents a better view. It's a real shame, as the older screen was much better. This issue could have been easily resolved with a fully variable contrast range setting on a dial rather than an internal stepped setting on the buttons - and from clear to black to ensure visibility, rather than "too dark", "darker", "darker still", "almost black". I'd say that the lightest setting is where I'd want the darkest to be. The only plus side for me is that it doesn't eat batteries like the older one did: my daughter is happy with it and has got used to the poor contrast, but that's because she wanted to! Ask her specifically about the screen and she thinks the same as me.

Bought for 9 year old for Xmas. She requested it as a dog lover. Arrived quickly in nice packaging. No complaints.

My girlfriend loves it!...but let's her Tamagotchi die like every other week lml (be warned it doesn't have a backlight so it'll be hard to see without good lighting

Giocavo a quello uscito nel 97 ed avevo 7 anni. Ora gioco con questo e lo adoro ugualmente. È arrivato anche prima della data prevista nell'ottimo pacchetto di amazon. Non cambia molto dal primo uscito. È un po più grande perché nel retro c'è il vano per due pile AAA non incluse, la cover dello schermo è sostituibile, c'è un'opzione pausa che adoro utilizzare quando sono a lavoro e c'è la possibilità di far comunicare i Tamagotchi tra di loro ed è per questo che ne ho acquistati due. Lo schermo non è retroilluminato e se non posizionato con l'inclinazione giusta non si vede bene, ma ci si passa sopra volentieri. Io lo consiglierei.

Ahhhh ces tamagotchis! Et voilà que je l'ai acheté pour mon fils de 6 ans qui en est ravi! Il n'a pas de copains ou copine tamagotchi donc on a pas pu tester les fonctions amis mais il la depuis 2 semaines et il est toujours pas mort. Le fait que se soit des piles AAA augmente le volume de l'appareil mais ça va être plus économique au final.
