Great adapter to use newer DeWalt batteries with tools designed for old-style "stick" batteries
They don't make "stick" batteries anymore for my older DeWalt vacuum cleaner. But this adapter is better because it lets you use the newer batteries that are now shared by all DeWalt power tools. I love it, and I love its moderate price, and I love the fact that, if I accidentally damage the adapter, I have a second one as a spare.

Work fine - a little hard to get on and off.
It extends the life of my tools, and I'm able to use the more powerful batteries. A little difficult snapping them in and out of different tools. I may buy another pair to leave one in each of the existing 18V tools.

Costs less because it does not have the bothersome charge-monitoring circuit of the Dewalt
Unlike the Dewalt versions of this product, these have no circuitry to monitor the charge level on the Li-ion batteries. This means you have to monitor the battery charge yourself to avoid completely draining the battery, which can shorten the battery's life. Many chargers cannot charge a completely dead Li-ion battery. However, by eliminating the charge monitoring circuit, this device avoids the problem of draining the battery if you leave it in the adapter/tool. For this reason, I disconnected that circuit in the Dewalt units I bought. I would rather monitor battery charge myself and not have to remove the battery from the tool every time I put it away for awhile.
