Great book

I love all of their books on home improvement. They are very comprehensive with great pictures and their books cover everything that you’ll need! I am a professional and I still learn from them.

I found this book very handy with lots of useful descriptions, as well as suggestions.

Full of great ideas to remodel your bathroom.

From bathroom layout, to design and feature considerations, to step-by-step instructions with illustrations, this BLACK+DECKER book is a great DIY bathroom guide. Whether you want to upgrade hardware or accessibility options, or if you want to rip the bathroom apart down to bare studs, this book gives advice and materials needed for the project.This guide is divided logically into sections on design elements (an overview of projects you may have), getting started (determining plans, creating plans, demolishing, etc) before it shifts into project areas such as showers and bathtubs, sinks and vanities, toilets, lighting and ventilation, wall and floor projects, bathroom accessories, and then a few end notes such as conversation tables and a resource list.Overall this is a good place to start if you want to DIY. It assumes a pretty good level of knowledge of how to use tools (there is a tool and materials list for each project but doesn’t suggest certain brands or even suggested models of tools). Although there are pictures for each major step of the project and lots of helpful hints, I’d suggest this book as a beginning point and then I’ll watch YouTube videos for even more tips and more in-depth instructions.Overall, this is a great resource whether you are planning on tackling a small or large bathroom project.

This is the latest 2023 version of Black & Decker's guide to remodeling bathrooms. It contains a lot of detailed information about how to remove old sinks, toilets, showers, bathtubs, etc and replace them with modern ones. This book is quite useful whether you're remodeling your entire bathroom or just replacing a sink. But keep in mind that this is not a troubleshooting book. It won't teach you how to fix a shower or toilet that just needs some repairs. Even if you don't feel comfortable remodeling your bathroom yourself, I would highly recommend reading this book cover to cover before hiring a contractor to do this work for you. This way you will know what questions to ask them and you can also be sure they are doing the work correctly, including following current building codes.

When I got and read this book, I was hoping for, as the title suggests, something a bit more "complete." By that I mean to say, this is a very good book if you're looking to remodel your bathroom. It's full of wonderful ideas and step by step instructions for large remodeling projects. But it doesn't much (or in fact any) information on simple day to day repairs, so I don't think of it as quite as complete as I was hoping for.That's not to say you need to plan a full remodel to get use out of this. Any time you're looking to replace one of the major bathroom fixtures, it has some good information for you, and for those projects, it's an extremely useful reference, and one I'll be glad to have in my library whenever those kinds of repairs come up. But think of something like replacing a faucet as the dividing line. Any repair less intensive than that isn't covered at all. The book is focused on replacements rather than repairs.To its credit, the illustrations are clear and informative, and it's fascinating to read about some of the different options available, so those of you thinking about new bathroom plans will find a lot to think about in these pages.I would caution, though, that many of these projects are substantial enough that, even with the book's advice in hand, beginners might want to hire a professional before tackling some of these projects. The book does a very good job of telling you what to do, but there's a lot of room for error, particularly when you're talking about plumbing projects, and the book seems to assume a certain degree of expertise or experience when offering its instructions.

I mostly got this book for ideas and it does have a few pictures here and there. It’s got very detailed instructions for how to do plumbing, electric etc. So if you’re looking for that it’s good. But not for ideas so much.
