Safe knife set for kids. Knife itself is safe and won’t cut little fingers, but effective enough for little learn to help in the kitchen. Cuts carrots no issue. Finger guard helps with confidence but in reality is soon ditched after a few uses. Used by 3 and 5 yr olds with no issue

My daughter is 7, almost 8, and from the images on the packaging and other reviews, I thought this knife might be too small and not sharp enough for her to actually use it to learn to cook. I was pleasantly surprised by how well it works! The handle grip is great for little hands, and the guard is great for protecting fingers whilst also allowing her to cut safely and evenly as a guide. It works well on things like cucumbers, peppers and tofu. Carrots were a bit trickier but eventually got there! Interested to see how it does with other vegetables.
