I normally use more expensive pens but have recently been trying out different sub-£20 fountain pens to see if any could serve as an everyday, 'chuck it in your bag' pen. The Muji pen really surprised me. It's slim, well-designed, finely machined and looks and feels like a quality pen. It writes beautifully and is very comfortable to hold. It comes with a standard black single-use cartridge, so I've fitted mine with a Faber Castell ink converter which fits well. This pen is really pleasant to use and very good value for money overall. I would recommend it without hesitation.

I really want to like this fountain pen, but it is not for me. It is made of light but sturdy brushed aluminium, with a very minimalistic look (as you would expect from MUJI). You can use it with international cartridges, or you can get an adapter. Very well-balanced and comfortable to use. My main problem is that I cannot get a smooth flow with the Extra Fine tip. I feel like I need to press more than I am used to, and that creates a slightly scratch feeling in the paper, which I do not enjoy. I am using Waterman Intense Black Ink, but I cannot achieve a smooth and continuous flow, with some letters/words coming up as darker than others, probably due to the pressure issue I am finding. Highly recommended if you enjoy a superb designed all-aluminium Extra Fine fountain pen, but I will save it for signature or special work only.

The Muji is a nice little pen. Quite light in the hand for those used to heavier pens. It writes well and I've had no issues with ink flow (using a Faber refillable cartridge). That said, it is a little scratchy when compared to more expensive pens but, at its price point, it is a very useable pen.

Great pen. Light to hold. Brilliant aluminium grip. Lovely ink flow, nice fit to my hand. Well built, no slip on the grip.

Great value for money. fits very well into the hand and glides with ease. Pay attention to any converters you choose as it works better with the cartridges.

Just got this, was so stoked to try it, unfortunately the excitement was dampened by the quality of the product. Unscrewed the pen to put a cartridge in and it's fallen to bits before I even had a chance to put ink on paper. Its a shame because the lines are smooth, the nib offers nice variation and pen in general feels quite nice. Hope to get a replacement from the seller

I was looking for a slim fountain pen to fit a pen loop in notebook cover. This pen is well engineered, is uniform slim at 10mm, is light, practical to carry round, and writes well. I can only think that those reviews which criticism the nib and ink flow brought a EF nib. I brought the Fine nib and it writes well with good ink flow, no issues. Overall this is an excellent Slim Fountain pen. Update: after a few days usage when putting the cap back on the pen, the clip pops up and the cap will not stay on. See the photo.

I own many fountain pens (possibly too many) and this is one of my favourites. It's compact, comfortable, very light, and stylish. It also has one of the smoothest nibs I own which makes it a pleasure to write and sketch with. In fact it has a smoother nib than other pens in my collection that cost ten times as much making it fantastic value. I've no idea if I was lucky to get such a smooth nib with my first Muji fountain pen but I've read other positive accounts so perhaps it's a sign of great quality control. The only minor negative point I can think of is that it comes with only a small international cartridge but this means it can be used with a large international cartridge or convertor so it's easily remedied. Some people classify this as a starter pen and while I think it's true that its low cost and ease of use put it in the same league as the Lamy Safari and Pilot Metropolitan and it's not as fancy as high-priced pens it's definitely a pleasure to use at any time. Highly recommended.

An absolutely amazing pen! I love it! Smooth nib, uses regular European cartridges (am about to try it with a converter). Lightweight, very nimble yet solid in the hand. This is a wonderful pen! I've been using it to write up a storm of new work. I'm a writer, and a smooth, reliable pen is a real treat. If you want consistent flow, great handling, and precision elegance in a very modern design, this is the pen for you!

Es una pluma muy elegante y muy bien hecha, de una calidad muy buena para el precio que tiene, el cuerpo y la pluma en sí no se le puede poner ninguna pega, el acabado es mecanizado y perfecto y el plumín es de acero inoxidable con punta de iridio lo cual no es común en plumas de este precio y da una sensación de escritura muy suave y muy agradable. El punto negativo a ese respecto, es que no es una pluma de uso intensivo por su forma y ergonomía, y cuando llevas escribiendo un rato a ritmo intenso, con mi forma de agarrarla al menos, se me hace bastante incómodo y hasta me llega a hacer daño. Para uso no intensivo o esporádico o para colección es una pluma muy interesante. La uso con un convertidor pelican y he probado varias marcas de tinta y funciona perfectamente con todas.

Der Füllfederhalter ist aus Aluminium im Industriedesign gehalten. Er liegt wunderbar in der Hand, ist ausgewogen und lässt sich dank des rauhen Griffeldes ohne Kraft sicher und locker halten. Die Kappe schließt passgenau und der Clip macht eine stabilen Eindruck. Nach dem Einfügen der Tintenpatrone konnte ich sofort loslegen. Kein Anfeuchten der Feder, kein Eindruck Ken der Patrone. Die Tintenabgabe zur Feder ist flüssig und reißt auch beim schnellen Schreiben oder Zeichnen nicht ab. Die Feder in der Strichstärke fein (F) entspricht dem europäischen Standard. Das Schreibgefühl ist phantastisch. Die Spitze ist grandios, gleitet hervorragend in alle Richtungen, ohne kratzen. Ich kann den Füllfederhalter uneingeschränkt zum Zeichnen und Schreiben empfehlen.
