How long are the 50 lb clips?

The 50 lb clips are 3/4 inch in length.

Are there any smaller Clips like a 25 lb

No the 50 lb is the smallest this is only 3/4 inch long very small clip. I almost need my reading glasses to connect a lure to the clip.

i cast out only my sinker 1st. can i attach the leader with the hook on one end of this and the other attach to my line slide it down freely???

I think what you're trying to do is add a sinker to this above your leader and kind of use this as a slider for your sinker instead of using an actual sinker slider? If so then yes it can be used as such. I find it worked better than the no-cut sinker sliders I got because those would always get tangled in the surf. With the TAC in place of the sinker slider I got less tangles as it is less bulky. You may have to check for line fray from time to time to make sure the TAC isnt chafing the line as the sinker slides up and down the main line.

Are these clips a good size for surfcasting lures ?

I would go for 25lbs clip or 50 anything over it's a little over kill but the clip works great!!!!
