I bought this for my girlfriend so she could heat her side of the bed without warming up the whole mattress, and it has worked exactly as we hoped. Choosing the single size was a great decision because it gives her a cosy, warm side of the bed while leaving my side at a normal temperature, so neither of us ends up too hot. She genuinely will not stop raving about it and has declared it one of the best presents I've ever bought her, which is both impressive and slightly embarrassing given how simple the gift is! It heats up quickly and provides a comfortable, even warmth throughout the night. The controls are easy to use, making it simple to adjust the temperature to suit her preference, and it fits the mattress well without feeling intrusive. Overall, it's been a brilliant purchase that has made colder nights much more enjoyable. If you have a partner who is always cold and while you struggle to cool down, this might just be the perfect gift.

Writing this review with it on right now. Warm, Comfortable and Easy to Use. I’ve had this electric blanket for about 3–4 months and I’m very satisfied. I even took it to Kenya while travelling and it worked perfectly for slightly chilly nights. Now in my first UK winter, it’s been amazing. It warms up fairly quickly around seven minutes for full temp and the highest setting is more than enough for me, as a person that is always cold. It’s on the smaller side as it doesn’t cover the whole bed, but it covers where you sleep so that’s fine. The only minor issue is the plug area, which can be a little uncomfortable if you sit on it, but it’s usually at the edge of the bed so it’s not a problem. The settings are easy to use, it feels safe, and it seems well-made. I haven’t washed it yet and probably won’t, but I don’t expect any issues otherwise. Overall it’s a great value for money and very reliable.

One niggle, that I shall reference at the end. Positives: Heating setting 1 is great if you dislike a warm bed and just want to take the edge off cold sheets Heating setting 2 is perfect for me and put it on (or use a timer if you have a regular bedtime) 30 minutes before you go to bed. Heating setting 3 is truly too hot for me. It’s very very effective. But I used it when I just forgot to turn it on before hand. I looked and thought “blast I’ve forgotten to turn it on”. Bang it onto 3, then go and do your ablutions. Be relaxed and brush your teeth slowly. In under ten minutes the bed is at an acceptable temperature and your error in forgotten. So what’s the niggle you ask? It’s the socket fitting to the lead that is on the top corner of each side (we purchased a dual zone version) of the blanket. Ergonomic it it’s not. Perhaps my mistake as I should have put the blanket further up the bed so the pillow covers the socket. But silly old be left it at about my shoulder level on the bed and wow it’s like rolling over onto a block of Lego. It’s not insurmountable - but it was annoying until I moved it. Well recommended.

Absolutely fantastic. Warms up well. Love the easy controls on it. Comfortable heat whilst sleeping as its adjustable.

This item purchased via Amazon on 13 September 2025 has now failed on 23 May 2026. The fuse has been checked ok, no indication light on controller, no heat of any of the switch selections. This is a " safety item" and therefore should have operated correctly, and safely for more than " eight" months. I look forward to hearing from Amazon/Silentnight on this situation.

I bought this in late 2020, so it’s now heading into its 6th winter. I chose it based on the well-known brand name, good reviews, and reasonable price. First impressions were that it’s well made with an overall cotton type feeling of reasonable quality, in a simple, neutral colour. I did notice that it doesn’t fully cover the size of the single mattress. I measured it at about 135 cm/4’5” in length, and about 72 cm/2’4” wide. The heating element wires stop about 5 inches from the edge of the material each side, so it effectively has an unheated border. To be fair, the specifications do mention that the blanket isn’t meant to reach the edges to enable it to lie flat, so I’ll accept it’s intended to be this way. The power cable has an overall length of about 8 feet with the controller nearer to the edge of the blanket. It doesn’t have a timer or any bells and whistles, just nice and simple heat options: 0 = Off 1 = Warm - 12 W 2 = Warmer - 23 W 3 = Warmest - 40 W Note: These wattage figures are for the single size blanket. An orange light on the controller glows very softly when switched on. It’s quite slow to fully warm up; I always switch it on at least half an hour before bedtime, on No.3 heat, which is warm enough for a cosy bed. The heating wires do protrude somewhat through the fabric, so some people may find that uncomfortable. This could also be the case across other brands as well, and I personally found I got used to it pretty quickly, without affecting my sleep quality. The elastic straps are helpful, keeping it in place quite securely under the mattress. -Pros: • Well known, trusted brand • Reasonable price • User-friendly controls • Well made, good quality, light weight • No unpleasant smell • Reliability: Still working fine after five years • Low running cost -Cons: • Heating wires can be felt while lying on it • Does not entirely cover the mattress • Slow to heat up • Limited maximum heat level Overall, this is a good, reliable product, and I have not had any problems with it over the past five years of use. This electric blanket works really well and heats up quickly. The controls are simple to use, and it’s nice to be able to adjust the temperature for comfort. It feels soft and makes a big difference on colder nights. A reliable and cosy addition for winter.

The Blanket works fine, buts its lost 3 stars for its design and fit. We have a Queen Size bed and I ordered the Queen Size Blanket. The trouble is, the heating element stops around 6 inches away from the ends of your bed on the right and left side, so if you sleep near the edge, its cold, but thats not the only problem. There is also a large plastic connector that ends up digging into you, no matter how you try and lay. You can try moving the blanket up really high, so the plastic is under your pillow, but then the bottom half of the bed where my feet is was cold. If I had to Buy again, I would buy the next size up to give more coverage and to allow you to hang this plastic connector more away from your bed. I've attached a photo and highlighted where the connector sits. As for comfort, you don't know its on the bed, but you do have to flatten it out from time to time, but this connector, you will find it digging in, depending on how you lay. As for the heat settings, number 1, doesn't really cut it, only just about takes the edge of. Setting 2, just right, not too hot, not too cold. Number 3, too hot, only useful if you need to warm the bed up quicker.

I purchased this item on October 2025 & on Christmas Day it stopped working. Can’t get any help or response from Amazon on this problem.

Good quality product, Just place it under the sheet turn it on for half hour before you go to bed and you’ll have a warm bed for all night.

I bought this as a gift for a friend, and unfortunately, it does not seem to provide much warmth. I was very disapoinyed when she told me that now after three days is still not working.While a slight warming sensation can be felt after an hour, it is not long-lasting, and it takes a full hour for it to begin working.
