As a direct replacement it was first class, fitted within a few minutes. Excellent.

Great but if equipment, however… Please note the Grohe use different thread diameters to attach the feed, so make sure you get the right model else you’ll be making a trip to the plumbing shop to get a step up/down adaptor to make it fit (as I did!)

Bought this to replace old one that had failed after nine years ,item was the same but after 3 weeks it failed with water continually pouring in to the pan.have ordered the same again as hoping it lasts like the original. We will see .not a cheap part and much cheaper ones avaliable

The obsession with small concealed toilets results in plumbers installing this type of disposable unit. The Grohe unit gets crusted with limes scale in hard water areas and the way to fix it is to replace entire unit. Changing the diaphrams does not seem to work. Just buy the whole thing and make sure you get the correct pipe size. This one is half inch.

As a plumber advise my customers what's the replacement options they have if parts are required, with GROHE Hide a way cisterns ( my name for cabinet type cisterns ) I always use the GROHE parts as they just work without and hassle. GROHE 42181000 | Filling Valve If you have a button on the front of the cabinet, 1 Turn the water off. 2 flush the toilet. 3 ease \ pull the draw front away and it should slip of the catches, you can slip a hook or screw driver in the side to ease it forward on one side first. 4 remove the white lid using a lifting wiggle action if required, no need to disconnect the Button air pipe/s 5. hold the old valve and use an adjustable spanner to unscrew the connector and the holding nut and remove you may have to tilt it as it may only have a small gap to the worktop. 6 Fit the fill valve just in reverse order, and turn water back on STEADY at first just in case of any problems, you should be able to test it without the lid or front panel on, just press the button. No adjustment required they just work, Job Done!

This is a standard part, which replaced a similar part, which sprung a small leak and soaked the ceiling below. I am sure its good, however paying £15 more that the exact same part using Europe ⅜ measurement was a rip off.
