The book arrived on time and in perfect condition. The packaging envelope they used was excellent. I would not hesitate to buy from this seller again.This is a great book for train lovers. It's an excellent book that includes everything you really need to understand about railroads, making it the perfect reference book. Also, its smaller size makes it much easier to handle than some of the very large reference books I have. I'm very happy I bought it.

I'm not a foamer. Always had an interest in the mechanics and design of locomotives and the rolling stock they pull. Also very interested in the history of railroads and abandoned rail lines.This book is a must for anybody with an interest in all things railroad. Covers steam to diesel, the actual railway and its workings such as signals, crossings. Talks about the various cars that make up a train.The pictures are great, the writing is easy to understand.Answered any question I had.Buy it!

For railfan or someone that wants to be a railfan it's a good read and alot of information!

This book has tons of general information about railroads in the U.S. Job descriptions, information about all types of freight cars, engines, etc. It's a very good resource book.

I'm new to trains. My interest was sparked by an unexpected interest in model railroading. "The Railroading Handbook" is a concise history and overview of the subject, written in an authoritative style. Lots of pictures of locomotives and rolling stock. Maybe not the ultimate reference on railroads (and it doesn't purport to be), but a great introduction.

This book is perfect for new train enthusiasts, and a good reference guide for veteran train watchers and hobbyists. Jeff Wilson always puts out great books!

Contrary to many of Kalmbachs books this one is in pocket book size. Just aswell it is a handy guide to Railroading in Detail describing all aspects and subjects. It is well written and easy to understand even for someone who has not yet any knowledge on the subject or limited knowledge.Good read for anyone who is new to the subject also model railroaders who want backgrounds on the prototype.For long time railroad fans/model railroaders it is a nice summary but did not give me much knowledge I did not have anyways. Nevertheless I enjoyed reading through it as it is really nicely done.Recommendable !!
