Read This Before Using!!
Let me start by saying that if you have seborrheic dermatitis, you've come to the right place. I'm sure that, like me, you have looked EVERYWHERE and tried EVERYTHING to clear up your scalp. And sometimes a new shampoo will work for a while, and then it...doesn't. Issues come back, frustration and gnashing of teeth ensues. Enter: Dermazen. If you haven't already, go to their website and download their free ebook. It's worth its weight in gold. There are a lot of factors that can worsen seborrheic dermatitis, and they do a great job outlining different things you can do in addition to using their products. That being said, the science behind the shampoo is revolutionary, plus I find that the formula doesn't irritate my scalp. So here's my caveat: Dermazen's shampoo is amazing. BUT. In my experience, you can't think of it as a standalone shampoo; I use it more as a treatment shampoo. Here's my hair-washing process: 1) thoroughly wet my hair 2) I start by deeply cleaning my hair with Purezero's tea tree & matcha shampoo. It's a clean/allergen-free/natural shampoo with scalp-friendly ingredients that really cleanses my scalp and hair but doesn't irritate it. PLEASE NOTE: I've tested it, and using Purezero alone does NOT clear up my seb dem. That's where Dermazen comes in... 3) thoroughly rinse Purezero from hair 4) SHAKE the Dermazen shampoo bottle well. This is key to mix the ingredients up every time you use it! It separates and if you don't shake it, it's super watery. 5) Work a generous amount of the shampoo into the scalp and use a scalp scrubber brush to work it in. 6) let the shampoo sit for several minutes as recommended 7) rinse well 8) condition with Purezero tea tree & matcha conditioner (don't get too close to the scalp) The key here is that pre-cleanse with another shampoo; it helps work some of the dirt & oil out of my hair and then I find Dermazen can really get in there to "treat" my scalp. Initially, I tried using Dermazen on its own but I had to use 1/2 the bottle to get the right amount of cleansing and my hair still didn't feel super clean. It's a low sudsing shampoo which I appreciate, but I personally find that this simple 8-step process works best for me. :)

Great product if you use it right
This is my second bottle. I have long, fine, straight hair. I do my first wash with a mild shampoo to clean my hair, then I massage in the Dermazen and use the scalp massager tool. I leave it on for 5 minutes or so before rinsing and conditioning. It really helps with my itchy flakes when I use it regularly. I wash my hair every 3-4 days. It lathers best after washing your hair first with another shampoo. I use it like a medicated wash instead of relying on it to do everything. I feel like it makes my hair smooth and hydrated without weighing it down.

Expensive but works
Expensive but works if you follow the directions. I also used a silicone scrubber that worked well with this. The smell is also nice.

Not worth for price
I was victim of marketing I saw a lot of adds about this product and decided to buy it. I thought it’ll work after single use but no I’ve used it 5-6 times already with 0 result. Never giving this kind of bad feedback but the product didn’t work for me so never purchase again!

Great shampoo for dandruff. Drying to hair
This shampoo does what it says. However, I found it drying to my African-American hair. I now follow it up with a more moisturizing shampoo to give the balance i need.

Shampoo can dry out scalp
I only did the shampoo because I wanted something that would properly clarify my scalp to calm it. This dried out my scalp- dandruff instead of scales from seborrheic dermatitis. All the edges of my hair had dried flakes. I used this three times over two weeks thinking it needed time. It’s a different type of itchiness from being overly dry. This was very disappointing because there wasn’t balance as I had hopped. The product is very liquidy which is good to get to the scalp. You have to shake it up as it states. The scent is minty and not off putting to me. It kind of smells like Pine-sol cleaning product now thinking of it. The cost was very high not to get the results for which I had hoped. Perhaps someone experiencing the really, really bad flare ups (which I have experienced and had to be prescribed Ketoconazole 2% shampoo) would find relief. Or perhaps using it in tandem with their serum would work but with these prices and already being disappointed, I won’t be doing so.

Calm scalp
This is a great shampoo for either one that has dermatitis or dandruff. It’s really relaxing for the scalp and it’s not harsh on the hair.
