SEE THE END OF MY REVIEW for a good pro-tip!
There are very few products I can genuinely say are practically perfect, but this really is one of them. Read at the end for my hot pro-tip! (There is also usually a price/quality trade-off present in most products, but this, at around £9 (in fact, a ludicrously cheap 6.50 when I got mine 5 years ago) is stonking value for money yet has NO DRAWBACKS and has everything you would want in a pair of scissor-action secateurs.) There is genuinely NOTHING I would change or improve, it's that simple, AND they offer you the possibility to maintain them (clean and SHARPEN THEM YOURSELF) very simply, should you be even a little bit handy, AS WELL AS an option to slightly customise their action - read at the end to see what I mean. Let me run through the basics: the arms are made of solid aluminium with rubberised inserts at the outer grip sides - so they are strong, light and comfy. The good quality *carbon steel* blades (means they can rust, so be careful not to leave them outside or on wet soil, and wipe them with a dry or oily rag or a tissue after use, and maybe oil their surface if you want to be extra sure, though this is not necessary unless you're putting them away for the winter and they're kept in a basic outdoor shed) are solidly joined to these handles by 2 screws, INSIDE a channel cut in the middle, so no working themselves loose. Despite looking slightly awkardly high-protruding, the hex bolt that holds the 2 halves together does not get in the way BUT confers the superb advantage of being able to easily take the unit apart for cleaning (10mm Socket wrench will do it) or (more usefully) for EASY, almost foolproof sharpening on a whetstone. FURTHERMORE, you can use this bolt to adjust the ACTION of the shears: tightening it to give a bit more resistance allows you to set it so that THE SPRING NO LONGER HAS THE STRENGTH OPEN THE ARMS ALL THE WAY, but, say, around HALF-WAY - makes it more comfortable for smaller hands to hold the pruner for extended periods of time. Hah, you didn't even think of this pro tip, eh? :) (This for when you don't constantly need the full strength offered by cutting at the root of the opening, yet you can still easily spred them open the full way for when you do!)

Cut through anything, comfortable and a good price.
Having used these for a few months now, I have to say, for the price, I don't think you will get better. They cut through pretty much anything with ease, are comfortable to hold and feel like they will last me a long time. The clasp to lock the handle is a nice added feature. I wouldn't hesitate to buy these again considering the price, overall great and work exactly as intended. 5 stars. Some extra information I was able to find on the manufacturers website: Weight: 0.204kg Width: 20mm Overall length: 195mm Tool head width: 15mm Blade length: 45mm Cutting diameter: 20mm Please let me know if you found this review helpful. Thanks.

Excellent budget option.
I wasn't expecting too much as I bought these as a budget option to leave at my allotment, so not overly worried if they were to be stolen from the shed, however I've been pleasantly surprised. The blades were already oiled when they arrived, but I did add a drop onto the coiled spring, just to smooth the action slightly. Overall the build quality is very good. Yes, the plastic looks a tad "budget" and the light grey handle tops have attracted a little muck and dirt, but who cares.... Its a gardening tool! When in use they do the job they're designed for. The blades are sharp from the outset and show no sign of deteriorating as yet. For pruning and smaller branches they cut through effortlessly and the spring action works well. When trying to cut through branches that are technically too large for the tool (come on, we all do it) it actually copes really well. The only downside for me is that red closure catch has a tendency to come open too easily. I tend to have these in my back pocket when working the allotment and they've sprung open a few times. Summary: A great option for a budget tool, sharp and easy to use, slightly let down by the catch mechanism. Please let me know if you found my review useful. Thanks.

Nice secateurs, shame about the packaging
These secateurs are good quality and the hook catch on the end make them easy to use (no sliding catch like on some other brands). My only negative would be to mention that they are secured to the cardboard packaging with a screw which makes them difficult to get off the cardboard, in the end I just ripped the cardboard as close as I could to the screw - it doesn't affect the functionality of them so it's okay I suppose, just a little irritating detail.

Top tool for my requirement.
Always take reviews with a pinch of salt but this one had so many positive reviews I decided to chance my arm. No, straight up, I loathe gardening. I hate it, with a passion. However, i have just moved house and have three 40 foot high bushes, a wall of thick ivy and a carpet of ivy that needed a bit of a slaughtering. So I wanted something that would do the job and do it with a minimum of effort. And boy, did these do the trick. Only the trunks on the bushes need some tlc with the chainsaw, they are four inches or so thick, and I'm done. I had so much fun with these that I kept going and cut everything down into 6" sections. It was like taking scissors to paper. I was dazzled by how easily these chopped through the vines and bush branches. I'd definitely buy these again and am tempted to buy a pair as a spare but don't think I will need to. These, even after all my rarrrgh today still seem as sharp and as slick as when I started. I'm even tempted to try Wilkinson Sword razors again.

Perfekte Schere
