Wow super great quality and flame control
Wow just wow !!! Love this bad boy. So happy I pulled the trigger on this one. Ordered the griddle for it, stoked with the quality. Not bothered by the hose in the front.

Camp Stove
Large size stove, simple design, shipping was great.

It works, just not in stellar condition.
One of the burners is bent but it works as described. For the cost of the stove I assumed it would’ve come in a better condition.

Best two burner portable stove out there.
We have been through more than our fair share of stoves over last 30 years of camping. This will be the last stove you will ever purchase because the build quality is second to none and this thing will last for years to come. Everything about this stove is high-quality and very well constructed. It is built completely out of aluminum and the design was very well thought out. Easy to use, easy to clean and definitely more along the professional line of portable stoves. If you have ever wondered if this stove was worth the money, I can definitely say without a doubt, Yes it is.

Great stove. Hard to find fitted accessories.
The only thing I'd change about the stove itself would be to make the gas line connect at the side rather than the front. I still love the stove, but this review is about the available accessories. Camp Chef doesn't offer a carry bag that fits. I suggest you look at the Royal Gourmet CB2701 Gas Grills Portable Outdoor Carry Bag, 27 Inch if you're looking for a storage and carry bag. It's a little loose, but close enough. The leg accessory kit is a bit short, raising the cooking surface to about 29" above the ground. Too low for my comfort when cooking with a skillet. I'm 6'1" tall. The leg kit might be a comfortable height for someone who's shorter or if you're using tall pots on the stove. Added 5/28/2025: Loving it, but Camp Chef doesn't have a lot of accessories specifically made to fit. Recently I purchased the Little Griddle GQ120, a stainless-steel griddle that takes up exactly 1/2 of the stove top. Without the (unnecessary) handles installed, it's literally a perfect fit; the burner is centered under the cooking surface. It promises to increase the versatility of the stove since it leaves the second burner free to use. I haven't cooked on it yet. I'll leave a review on the Little Griddle product page when I do.

On par with a Cook Partner?
We own a Cook Partner 2-burner stove that appears to be the inspiration for this Camp Chef Mountaineer. Without being able to compare the 2 side-by-side, this appears to be a good and cheaper alternative. I have 2 beefs with the Cook Partner: A) They use a proprietary hose/connection, which means that when I inquired about getting a longer hose, I learned that a 10' long hose would be custom built and cost $90.00! I decided to keep suffering along with my 4' hose. However, a generic adapter for the tank end to propane bottle will work for connecting their hose to a generic hose for a cabled together solution. B) The stove seems to be about the same width as the Camp Chef, and I find that is too narrow for when I use a wok and need a second pan cooking along with it. C) I would like higher output burners because when we camp above 5,000' elevation (pretty often), the propane struggles to get hot enough. A big plus for the Cook Partner products is that they are made in the USA and the Camp Chef is made in China.

Connecting to trailer propane tank
Great stove. If you connect to a travel trailer DOY propane tank will need to first connect a splitter such as a (Amazon) DOZYANT Propane Splitter, Propane Tank Y Splitter Adapter with Gauge and connect this stove directly to on side. Then connect the other side to the propane regulator on the trailer. Result is you can then use this stove (which has regulator already installed) directly to your TT tank. Alternatively you can use the splitter and connect onside to the quick disconnect (if you have it on the trailer). You just don't want 2 regulators connected in series., that is, the TT regulator and the stove regulator on the same propane line. Splitter is very easy to install and use.

High pressure
I thought I could use with my camper. But it only works with large propane tanks. My rv propane pressure is too low. Also the heat is almost too much. Now to sell it and get a regular camp stove.
