Carhartt mens Loose Fit Firm Duck Insulated Flannel-lined Active Jacket

I'm 5'8" tall 310lb , 3x fit perfectly . It's a little stiff butt I can live with it . It's very warm . It's been below zero for 4 day's . I'm happy. Great price comfy . Tim T

My 6'3" tall husband needed a new winter weight coat. This large tall size fit him well and I appreciate the two interior pockets. One is secured with Velcro patch in the middle and the other has a nice zipper across the whole top. It is a canvas coat, so the material is kind of firm to begin with, but that speaks to quality and craftmanship. The zipper is fully metal and the overall features are what I expect in a Carhartt coat. I still have my green one from high school!

It's big. It's warm. It feels very tough. You will look more intimidating (not what I wanted, but there it is). I got fed up with cheap things not working right and giving out after a year. So I bought this. It's a bit costly, for my budget. I'm 6'2", 300 lbs. I wear mostly 3xl, sometimes 4xl. I bought the 3xl jacket. There is some room to spare, but the fit is very good. It is long enough, and I can move easily in it. It is bulky and sweeps things off counters and tables as I pass by. It is warm, quite warm. The exterior feels almost like canvas. Brand new, it is fairly stiff. The hood is stiff, and I had to persuade it to stay down. Again, I assume time will ease the stiffness somewhat. The interior is soft flannel. Waist and wrists have elastic to keep snow out, but they do not chafe. Overall very comfortable. It has a plasticky, painty scent that I assume will fade with washing. Strong metal zipper. Two pockets are inside, one zipper the other velcro. They are each big enough to hold my Kindle. This looks like an excellent jacket. I will update if anything surprising happens.

I bought the same jacket in black 5 years ago and it’s hands down the most warm and durable coat I’ve ever owned. I also get compliments on it still to this day even though it’s visibly frayed and faded from the elements. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my old black jacket and still my go to jacket when it’s cold outside because it’s so warm and comfortable. I just like it so much I wanted another one in a different color so I got the brown one this time. These run big, designed for layering underneath comfortably. Such a stiff fabric but it softens as you wear it and wash it. Thick cotton shell that won’t tear when hopping barbed wire fence or rubbing against sharp rebar. Doesn’t matter if you’re doing construction work, camping, or a professional burglar, this jacket will serve and protect you. It’s like walking around in a sleeping bag with sleeves. I did not need another Carhartt jacket but just in case I lose my old one I have a back up jacket ready for action. Buy it now and you will not be disappointed in this investment. It may be the perfect jacket, especially for the winter months.

As others have said the product was a size down than normal. I typically wear medium things and got the small. The waist is perfect especially with the taper from the cloth ruffles. The sleeves stop at the waist and the cuff things go 2” past so also perfect. The jacket is very warm. I wear it alone down to freezing maybe a bit lower, with just a t shirt. The jacket is a bit stiff in materials and it is very spacious despite being a small (read: I could fit another jacket and sweatshirt UNDER it; and could not fit the Carharrt under my winter parka because it was so Volumeous). I love it. It looks smells feels works great. Inner and outer pockets are spacious and wonderful. The velcro sticks to the inner material which makes me regret the quilted design. The zipper is kinda poopy in that it doesn’t zip/unzip very well, as well as feeling kinda plasticy. I’ve ripped a fingernail on it by not being careful and hurt my cuticles a few times. Here’s my ratings. In terms of this being my first carhartt, I am 10/10 satisfied with it. I’m so happy to have something so sturdy, warm, fashionable, and fun to wear. In terms of understanding the quality behind things - I feel guilty giving it less than a 10 but the zipper is kinda dumb and the velcro pocket isn’t my favorite. So we’ll say 8/10 on those regards. If we factor in delivery and packaging and presentation out of bag (no loose or torn threads; the material isn’t creased; it loosens up some in flexibility) then I’d give it a 10/10. I love my new coat. Will upload pictures shortly.

Typical Carhartt super high quality clothing. Warm and comfortable heavy fabric. The heavy duty brass zipper will take a bunch of use to become easier to zip up though. Very fast shipping!

I will start by saying carhartt products generally fit one size larger. I normally wear a medium jacket, i ordered a size small and it fits perfectly. The jacket looks great, its durable, and warm. Because its such a thick material its definitely stiff when its new, this changes over time as you work it in. Same goes with the zipper, its heavy duty so it requires some elbow grease to zip up when its new. Tip, pull the bottom of the jacket down when you zip up, it just works. Dont base your opinion on the jacket in the first week or two of wearing it, wear it and let the materials soften etc. this type of jacket will last you many years. 5/5 product, i would recommend it to anyone considering. Worth the money 100%

I love this jacket already! Unfortunately, it has a very strong chemical smell. I don't know if it comes from the material or the dyeing! I hope it disappears soon - then it could become my favourite piece.
