I read all the reviews about this item and the issues with meat getting stuck behind the plunger. I received this item just a couple of days ago and used it for the first time today. It was easy to load the seasoned meat and the product came out in perfect lines for the dehydrator. I was very pleased on how easy it was. I had no issues with anything getting stuck behind the plunger. Maybe they fixed that issue. So far it’s Great!

Overall good product, easy to clean and very easy to use , HOWEVER, the plunger cup does not fit well and allows the meat to bypass causing a mess for clean up, if the plunger were to fit correctly, I would have given 5 star rating, as is, I am looking for a refund on my money, don't recommend buying this unit.

This is a super product. All those people that said the threads didn't hold or the cap blew off....switch the tube around!!! The threads are different on the ends. (I don't know why) I only learned this after I washed it and was putting it away for storage and the ends didn't thread correctly. It seemed pretty obvious to turn it around. I can't believe that people didn't think of this. Now, if you have forced the threads and used it you may have broken it and switching the tube around may not fix the problem, because, it likely is broken now with damaged threads. When I first assembled this, I was wondering what these people in the reviews were talking about with saying that the threads were bad. I saw the threads as really well made and I didn't have any issues. I was cautious at first, but now I know what their problem was. This works great for me. 5 stars.

I really like this product seems to have some weight to it . We used it soon as we got it to make jerky it was easy to clean and use I would use warm soapy water soon as your done so nothing dries on there may make it a litter harder to clean but overall works really well and worth the money !

Used this jerky gun to make ground venison jerky. On the fifth pound of meat, the cap that pushes the meat in the tube broke off of the plunger shaft, and whatever was holding it on the shaft disappeared…maybe into my jerky meat? I basically paid $10/hour to use this cheap item that epitomizes Chinese build quality.

Works just like you could expect. Use a wrench to tighten the nut on the plunger or lose it in your meat. Makes pepperoni style links and flat jerky. I’m satisfied.

I've been using the old red nesco gun since 2017. I was heartbroken when it finally broke in 2024. I ordered this gun to replace it. I wish I had replaced the old red Nesco years ago! This outimate jerky gun has high quality plastic, heavy duty metal mechanisms, and is all around WAY better than the old one I have been using.
