Levi's Men's 501 Original Fit Jeans

I own several pairs of Levis, including 501s, so pretty much knew what to expect. This pair had the usual high quality and was good value at just under £65. 501s are a good style for me, with a relaxed fit for those of us the wrong age for skinny or slim fit! What I did notice with this particular pair though, was a slight sizing difference. All my other pairs are 33W, so that is what I originally order. I was surprised to find them slightly tight in the waist. Not a lot, but enough to make a difference. To make sure it wasn't me gaining weight (!), I tried them against my other 33W 501s and they were definitely a bit smaller. These were sent back and replaced with 34W which fit fine. Just something to possibly bear in mind with this batch and colour. Despite this, I'm very happy with this purchase and the returns process through Amazon was quick and efficient.

Excellent quality jeans, the fit is absolutely perfect and they feel comfortable, the quality of the materials and craftsmanship mean these will likely last a long time. The colour is a rich deep black, not sure yet if this will fade with wear and washing.

I was a little concerned about fit after reading some reviews. These were manufactured in Turkey, delivered early and aperfect fit and true to size. I last had a pair of 501 Originals some 30+ years ago and were always my favourite jeans. The fit (both leg and waist) are spot on, and quality of these new ones are perfect and just howI remember them - perhaps a little softer - which at my time of life is just what I need and want.

Great quality and fit great are going to buy more pairs

In my own opinion they don’t live up to the hype. I have for the last twenty or more years only worn Wrangler jeans, but with these being nearly half price in the ‘Black Friday’ sale I thought I’d grab a pair of these ‘classic’ 501s for a change. I usually take a 31W/32L with regards the Wrangler jeans, but decided upon a 32W/32L for the Levi’s. The waist was just right but the length is excessively long. As for the general fit its okay, but the fabric doesn’t hang straight throughout the leg and feels a little twisted. No double hemmed stitching as on the Wranglers either on the hem or outside leg giving them a less rugged feel and a more tailored appearance [again something I am less enamoured by]. And only 5 belt loops rather than the 7 that are common on Wranglers. Okay in general though I shall have to take up the leg at least an inch or two. Probably won’t be my everyday go to pair of jeans. As for colourfastness, for which my Wranglers do not hold for very long, I cannot comment having only recently made the purchase. But overall Levi’s 501s don’t live up to the hype.
