Mk light switch a great product and at a great price Mk are world leaders in electrical products and home market products and switches and they have the best record in safety I highly recommend any Mk switches. I am so sorry to change what I have already said about Mk but this switch did not live up to what I had expected I could not get the screws to tighten down on to the light cables so the switch turned out to be useless.

The only brands I ever trusted in over three decades now were MK, Crabtree (including their sister brand Volex for budget installations) and Contactum (difficult to get hold of these days, but always good). MK of course lead the way in stylishness and switch action and slick look. They’re a little fiddly to fit compared to Crabtree which you get the hang of. The reliability is always there, unlike some of the newer brands. Most still made in the UK, if that matters to you.

I have always bought MK, and my dad has always bought MK. Never been let down by them, so it was a bit disappointing when I fitted this as a replacement switch that it did not screw flush to the patress box. There is a small, but noticeable gap most of the way round what looks to be a flat wall (single piece of plasterboard) and which did not have a gap with the previous switch. It works OK, just a bit annoying, and will put some sealant around the gap.

Exactly what you'd expect from MK - a product that is both well designed and manufactured (in Britain), but also, reasonably priced. We are using these switches in conjunction with the MK Neon Locator (Tracer) add ons, which provide a gentle green light around the outside of the frame, making it easy to locate the light switch in a dark area, such as a hallway.

Perfect replacement for a broken dimmer. Dimmers always fail sooner or later.

Bought to replace some 40 year old MK switches from the last rewire. After 40 years the switches, whilst still working had obviously become worn and were getting a bit baggy on their operation. These were a very simple like for like swap, but if you don’t know what you’re doing, get a sparky to do it. MK is probably the best known and most reliable manufacturer of electrical products. Why would you skimp and go for a cheap alternative where electricity is concerned.

Don’t buy other less expensive makes. MK electric products are made well and work for years. This unit is easy to install and the switch action is smooth.

MK used to be the goto brand for electricians years ago and back then quality was great. These days as with just about everything else, we cant manufacture our own products and get China to do it for a pittance (anyone my age will remember our parents complaining about being made in Hong Kong) resulting in most of the time shoddy quality. Don't get me wrong there's some fantastic things coming from China, these aren't one of them. Like all the others customers have found the terminal screws are really bad, made of the softest metal they could find. I managed to tighten up the terminals just about without stripping the thread although the slot on top of the screw isn't deep enough so I still ended up looking all burred up, if I ever need to take this off and re tighten the screws, I am basically screwed (scuse the pun) Does its job but wont last like the old MK products I'm still using from the 1960's and 70's
