True Temper Harmony Stainless Steel Planting Spade

I tend to write reviews only when items are very bad or very good. I have some 4 acres to care for and have many tools but this is simply the bees knees of spades, am absolutely delighted with it...if it were a painting it would be the Mona Lisa.Its wooden handle is beautifully crafted ,very strong with three rivets and is a delight to the touch. The spade has a curved bit where you put your foot so easy to exert a lot of,pressure and the blade simply cuts through the turf like the proverbial hot knife through butter. The spade is well balanced and have already used it to dig up and plant some 200 one year old willow saplings in somewhat stony soil. Wish I had bought one years ago. Great spade..Thankyou.

The top of the handle is starting to work loose, but I should be able to tighten it (it's had some hammer). But overall, a good, strong spade. No sign of bending or weakening in heavy clay.

An excellent graduate or ladies spade. It is strong, but lightweight, an ideal agricultural planting/rabbiting spade or for digging holes for shrubs and fence posts. Being pointed and stainless steel, it cuts cleanly through heavy soil. Recommended.

I had great hopes that this spade would last as it seemed to be constructed of sturdy materials. However, after only 18 months the handle has snapped which I don't regard as very good. Particularly as the spade isn't used much in the winter and is kept in a dry shed when not being used.

It's a brilliant spade - light enough to be practical and solid enough to be useful. Would recommend to anyone.

Considered cheaper options, but bit the bullet and don't regret it for a moment. A sharp point cuts through the clay neatly. Not a heavyweight, but you shouldn't need one for a planting spade. Would have no hesitation in recommending this. Go on, you know you want one!
