The Munchkin Lindam Sure Shut stair gate is overall a solid and reliable product. It feels sturdy once fitted, and the gate mechanism is smooth and secure. Great for keeping little ones (or pets!) safely contained, and the design blends in nicely with most interiors. However, there’s a design flaw worth mentioning – one side of the gate has an angled plastic protrusion that sticks out awkwardly. It’s very easy to catch your thigh on it, especially if you're walking through in a hurry or wearing shorts – and when you do, it really does hurt! It’s a shame, because otherwise it’s a great gate. Just be aware of that angled edge – I’ve started warning guests about it too!

This is a really solid, well made item. It fits the space well and cannot be pushed over. We wanted something that would go across the stairs to a newel post without having to drill and some I had seen seemed to fill the space but were not secure. We have two new big puppies and needed to give the cat a sanctuary upstairs. The dogs have thrown themselves against it several times and it hasn't moved at all. The catch says it can be worked single handed but it is not easy to manage it with one hand having to squeeze and lift. It is fine if you can use two hands, and the mechanism is good and solid - even with shaking it doesn't come open. The only thing I would say are not good are the instructions - they do not really explain the fitting, and I spent ages trying to get the bolts to attach to the gate (they don't - they just sit in and tension against the wall). Once I worked out how it worked it was fine. Although I do seem to have quite a few attachments left in the box that I haven't a clue what they are there for. Having said all that, I thought it was so good I have just bought another one to give the cat some privacy for her litter tray.

We are currently using 3 of these each with 7cm extensions. I found them easy to fit and remove, very secure even when not using the optional cups which can be attached to the frame, and reasonably easy to use. Initial fitting would probably have taken less than 5 minutes, as promised, but with also fitting the 7cm extensions, took a little longer. Now that everything is assembled and I know what I'm doing, removing and refitting takes about a minute, and all of this is tightening or loosening the nuts. We aren't using the supplied frame cups - the gate seems pretty secure without them, and I will fit them if we start to see any movement relative to the frame. I considered removing a star for the difficulty opening them one-handed, described as 'easy', but this would be a half-star issue at most, and Amazon don't do half-stars. They can be opened one-handed, but 'easy' isn't a word I would use to describe it as it requires a certain amount of digital gymnastics, and might not be possible for the smaller- or weaker-handed person. With experience, we might discover a better one-handed open, and we take some reassurance from the fact that if an adult struggles to open them one-handed, a child is going to struggle to open them two-handed. Hence, they keep all five stars.

Türschutzgitter für Tiere ganz tolles Teil, benötige es damit sich mein Hund nicht immer aus dem Büro verabschiedet. Funktioniert tadellos und ist leicht einzubauen. Kann ich weiterempfehlen.

Necesitaba una barrera para poner en las escaleras y evitar que accedan los niños. Quería una barrera que se instalase sin necesidad de agujerear la pared o la barandilla de las escaleras. Esta barrera se puede instalar fijándola con tornillos o a presión. Yo la instalé a presión con dos extensiones para salvar un hueco de aproximadamente 1 m. Lleva seis meses montada y cumple perfectamente: el mayor de mis hijos (4 años) aprendió pronto a abrirla, pero el pequeño (2 años y medio) aún no. Justamente lo que necesitaba, el mayor riesgo en las escaleras es para el pequeño, no para el mayor. Las primeras semanas los niños jugaban con ella por la novedad e incluso se colgaban de ella, yo temía que se soltase al no estar fijada con tornillos, pero sigue aguantando perfectamente. Le hice un par de ajustes cuando cedió un poco, pero nunca se cayó o soltó. Buena compra.

Conforme à mes attentes! C'est à dire, facile d'installation, efficace, ouverture et fermeture sûres et solide! Je l'ai acheté pour faire barrière à mon chat, dans un premier temps. Pour qu'il ne puisse pas accéder à la chambre de bébé. Les barreaux sont suffisamment étroits et la hauteur est parfaite. Plus tard, elle servira pour que bébé ne puisse pas accéder à l'escalier, je pense que cela sera parfait également.

AGGIORNAMENTO: Dopo ormai 2 anni dall'installazione, non posso che confermare la bontà di questo prodotto. Non ha fatto una piega! Viene aperto e chiuso almeno una decina di volte al giorno, e tutto è rimasto esattamente come quando installato. Soddisfattissimo. Lo stra-consiglio e lo riacquisterei ad occhi chiusi! ----------------------- Quando il mio piccolo Chris ha iniziato a gattonare come un missile per casa, abbiamo deciso di acquistare un cancelletto da mettere sul portoncino d'ingresso, che da proprio su una lunga rampa di scale. Dopo aver scartato l'ipotesi di farne costruire uno su misura, vuoi per i costi, vuoi perchè lo spazio nel minuscolo pianerottolo è davvero esiguo, abbiamo cercato on line e, viste le numerose recensioni positive e il prezzo onesto, abbiamo deciso di acquistare questo articolo. Arriva praticamente già assemblato, va solo installato nel punto dove se ne ha bisogno. Inoltre, per questo modello, sono disponibili anche delle prolunghe per arrivare alla misura desiderata. Fortunatamente non ne abbiamo avuto bisogno perchè costano più del cancelletto stesso! Il fissaggio volendo si può fare senza forare pareti o montanti delle porte, in quanto si fissa a pressione tramite 4 piedini di metallo registrabili, che si fissano per maggiore tenuta con del biadesivo sulle pareti laterali. La struttura portante è composta da 3 listelli di metallo uniti ad "U". Finchè non si applica a pressione tra le pareti, i due lati verticali non sono paralleli, ma vanno verso l'esterno della struttura, tant'è che la chiusura del cancelletto dista dal battente svariati centimetri. Una volta fissato tra le pareti e registrato correttamente, tutto va a squadro e la chiusura funziona perfettamente. il meccanismo di chiusura è ben fatto, e penso sia molto difficile per un bimbo aprire il cancelletto, in quanto va applicata una discreta forza con indice e pollice per comprimere il sistema di sgancio (di colore celeste), e mantenendo la pressione con le due dita, va sollevata la chiusura (di colore grigio). Inoltre, per maggiore sicurezza, il cancelletto ha 2 blocchi sul lato inferiore, normalmente noi ne teniamo abbassato solo uno, quello che battendo sul montante inferiore, non consente al cancello di aprirsi verso le scale. Ogni tanto, esclusivamente in nostra presenza, facciamo giocare il piccolo proprio in prossimità del cancelletto in quanto ama sentire l'eco della sua voce nella tromba delle scale.. lui si aggrappa al cancelletto e lo strattona di peso (tipo un baby-gorilla in gabbia... :D ), ma non ha dato mai il minimo segno di cedimento. Ovviamente di norma il portoncino di casa è chiuso... ma è un'ottima sicurezza in più per il nostro piccolo. Allego alcune foto della mia installazione. Lo consiglio vivamente.
