This is a quality item you can buy similar ones for less than half the cost of this brand but reading reviews about unfused plugs loose wires and overheating you have to ask yourself is the risk of fire or electric shock and damage to your connected equipment worth the saving? I purchased mine to replace the rubbish underpowered one that came with my Lapai 2024 A + mini amp. It makes a huge difference too performance and is a recommended upgrade amongst enthusiasts. In my case using the supplied psu ( 12v 2 amp ) and 4ohm 89db w/metre speakers anything over 10 o 'clock on the volume would distort and clip causing the inbuilt protection on the Lapai to shut it down. With the Chennel Well psu at 2 o'clock on the volume the sound is clean with no audible distortion or problems with the amp clipping and muting the sound. I should add that at this volume the whole street can hear so for any Lapai owners contemplating upgrading I wholeheartedly recommend this CWT PSU to hear the amp at its best.

I'm a bit late with this review, but there's not much one can say about a straight forward product such as this transformer/power brick. It worked straight out of the box and has been in constant daily use to power my Tevion TV for many hours a day for the last 2 years and 2 months and is still working fine. It does not get hot (only slightly warm) and was well worth the money. So full marks for durability/reliability. I hesitated at giving such a straightforward product a 5 star ("I love it") rating only because I don't get too worked up about these basic things and it is doing what it should do, but given that it has lasted this length of time I felt to give it any lower marking would be a bit churlish. Recommended.

Can't really say much about it - it works as a PSU and has resolved the problem a different supply was causing of REIN which was crippling my DSL connection speeds!

A very nice power pack / psu / or switched mode power supply, and its running my back-up akasa drive right now and perfectly - I have bought a similar ones before, with a 4 pin plug versions, these a very reasonably priced and well made, so why am I buying them ? cos my old units are slowly dying (not these) - they are a quality made unit - and I am likely to buy more.. a great buy, at a great price.. well done

Monitor had been flickering, then would not switch on. Traced problem to a failed 4A adapter (not a CWT one). Replaced it with this CWT adapter, and it now works perfectly. I picked the CWT because I have another monitor that has used a CWT for many years and it was offered at a good price for a high quality adapter. There is no power lead supplied with this CWT, but I was replacing an existing adapter that also used a UK kettle lead, so I did not need or want one.

This is a very powerful (60W - 12V/5A) general purpose power supply. I purchased it to power my Marley Bag of Rhythm (iPod-based) entertainment system which can operate from its own internal batteries but that can work out very expensive unless they are rechargeable. However, even using rechargeable batteries is not a cheap option. Also they have to be recharged periodically. For frequent use this general purpose 12V power supply is by far the most convenient option and it is the cheapest solution too. I have used this power supply many times and it has proven to be a robust and reliable unit that outwardly resembles the 'mono block' type external power supply used by many laptops. This unit lasted longer than the two previous power supplies I bought on Amazon but it has failed after 2 years. It still generates power but overheats and cuts out regularly causing my CCTV hard drive to reboot when power comes back on after it cools down. Most people say it's a good quality unit so perhaps I'm unlucky but 2 years doesn't strike me as good enough.

It's not sexy and comes in a padded bag but it works brilliantly. I use it with a mini-box on an ITX motherboard and it has worked faultlessly. It is completely quiet which is perfect for a mediacentre PC and has a long cable. Only thing that may cause a problem is that it doesn't come with a mains lead. However this is just the standard "kettle" lead and most people will have one in a cupboard or a loft.
