Emperor's new clothes
I consider myself to be a perfume connoisseur but I found this quite foul, an overpowering musk that seems completely lacking in the other ingredients listed and stucks around for far longer than welcomed. To be honest I find much of the Ford perfume range to be overpriced rehashes of older fragrances or weird concoctions lacking in any real sense of purpose or direction, resulting in frequent disappointment. I bought a bottle of Sole di Positano a couple of years ago as a birthday treat, but was struck at its lack of staying power for what cost £150 for a small bottle and felt quite cheated. Black Orchid smells gross to me, but like the emperor's new clothes perhaps I'm just not getting it...

Tom Ford nos trae una fragancia oriental y floral que, encasillada dentro del género femenino, ha tenido gran éxito en el sexo opuesto. Y es que la Eau de Toilette Black Orchid viene con notas de trufa, pachulí, notas afrutadas, vainilla, incienso, y algo de vetiver. gracias a éstas últimas, hace que el perfume haya tenido su sitio entre algunos hombres. Si bien, me parece un perfume claramente femenino ya que las notas de trufa, pachulí y vainilla tienden a llevar el gran peso en la esencia. Este Black Orchid, pese a ser la versión EDT, tiene una gran duración y persistencia en la piel, no al nivel de su hermana EDP, y una mayor proyección a esta última, por lo que funciona bien en los sitios abiertos. Por su pesadez, gracias a la notas chocolatosas, esta Tom Ford sale mejor parada en la temporadas de otoño e invierno, de noche mucho mejor que de día, y eventos especiales donde busquemos distinción y presencia, aunque gracias a que es una versión EDT, pudiera usarse en oficina, como perfume firma, si sabemos respetar las dosificaciones. Black Orchid no es un perfume fácil para recomendar, ni para hombre ni para mujer, ya que se desprende de la comodidad y seguridad de las restantes gamas de diseñador, pese a pertenecer a ésta. Para saber lo que puede ofrecerte esta fragancia tendrás que probarlo necesariamente y decidir por ti mismo. Sin duda alguna, un perfume elegante, dulce y oscuro que está abierto a ambos sexos.
