Recommended all-round primer for miniature painters.
I gave this product 5stars for ease of use - and by that I mean it is easy to pop off the lid and pour out the paint - though this is an airbrushing product and getting the dilution absolutely correct is a dark art - something I am only starting to grasp. In general, I think this is an excellent primer. I use it exclusively for priming miniatures. It takes a few light coats to get full coverage, but as long as you use a gentle touch and let each coat dry fully between applications then it produces beautiful results. When compared to rattle-can spray-primers, the preservation of detail and absence of additional texture when using an airbrush to apply the primer is stark. The finish is a pale, neutral grey; much closer to white than black. I have not yet tried brush-painting directly onto the primed mini, only airbrushing paints on, and that works great. Just go easy and let things dry before you add more layers. As for diluting your paint, I found I had to or else it dried on the airbrush tip/nozzle. I tried distilled water, airbrush flow improver, standard thinner, and airbrush thinner (all Vallejo) in different combinations. The dedicated airbrush thinner would be my go-to, ease-of-use recommendation with my current level of experience. Be aware that this is very thin paint with a very low surface tension straight out of the pot, and it is easy for the lid to get messy. I transfer an aliquot to a smaller dropper bottle with a narrow applicator and carefully dilute in the dropper bottle so I can transfer directly to the airbrush. And I prime in batches (priming days) because you will need to strip down the airbrush and give it a full clean after using primer - it likes to dry quickly, and it particularly likes to dry to itself. Will be buying more Vallejo primers from this range.

Primo primer
Fantastic product, great coverage, self levelling so no brush marks, a good neutral colour and adheres well. Good value for money and a highly recommended bit of kit.

good all round primer, but slightly better when sprayed.
Decent enough primer. I purchased it for warhammer models as it was cheaper than the chaos black sprays and didn't need to be used outdoors. I brushed it on my first set of figures. The first layer was quite patchy, but covered better on the second coat. The primer does "pull in" quite a bit when dry, so the detail stands out better than you originally think when you brush it on. I've just brought a cheap airbrush set on here for ยฃ26, and tested a few figures with the primer yesterday. It goes on nicely with the airbrush, covering nice and evenly first time. The detail seems a bit clearer than brushing on, as it doesn't pool in recesses quite as much. The only trouble I had was that the grey primer is quite close to the plastic of the models, so it was tricky to see where I had been. Using the white or black primer (or other base colour) would have made this a lot easier.

Great as usual
Big fan of the Vallejo primers, hardly any thinning required and applies a nice consistent coat when airbrushing

Perfect primer for any model
Nice even coverage when painting. Recommend a 50/50 mix if using with an airbrush. Covers well and drys quickly but not to quickly. You can not go wrong with Vallejo paints

Great stuff! No thinning required.
I build Gundam models and for lower grades, they usually need a splash of paint on small areas. I use this as a brush-on primer and it does the job wonderfully. If using it in an airbrush, you will obviously need to thin, but if you're brushing it on, a damp brush is enough and you don't need to be all that precise. It sticks to bare plastic easily and doesn't run all that thin. Obviously choose the color you need to bring out your desired paint, but if you're lacking in cash, grey is a perfect middle ground for all paints (but you'll need more layers for lighter hues).
