Fibre Installer
I’m not doing massive amounts of splices a day as an FTTP Installer, but this cleaver gives me clean cuts and no issues splicing. I bought this as the one given to me through work was giving me nothing but headache, more chance of getting a decent cut by whacking the fibre with a cucumber. I’m probably around 50 splices in and it’s still functioning nicely. I do wonder from the other negative reviews, do people realise they have to rotate blade when it gets blunt?? For me, this should last ages in the way it has been performing.

Tidy and sturdy device
4 stars due to only having it a month. Was bought has a back up, but the ease of use has put it as my first choice. Seems more reliable and sturdier than my other expensive plastic one. Haven't had the need to adjust anything, and it came inside a zipped carry bag. Instructions are clear enough to understand. You do receive a set of hex keys, but, all the screws I can find on the device are + heads.

Solid cleaver
Very solid cleaver, pushes out the blade when you open it which is very handy. Cleaves the fiber glass to perfect length for connectors

Avoid this product at all costs. Advertising as Sumitomo, disgraceful. Also an absolute awful product.

Works for about 8000 splices and then starts breaking the fibres, giving bad cleaves and doesn't work effectively at 8 degrees Celsius or lower

As good as the big boys
Cuts just like an expensive one. Bought this as a stop gap whilst my boss replaced a blade in a £400 + cleaver, I prefer this one.

Very bad. Can't cut fibre, balde is not sharp enough, and angle is bad had to readjust after to make any progress. You have to hold lid open and then hold fibre with hand while pushing cutter 10x times to make some kind of cut.
