Sena SPH10-10 Bluetooth Stereo Headset/Intercom

I bought two sets of these just over a year ago and have used them for hunting to communicate between driver and shooter when using a pick-up truck with the shooter in the back and also for communicating between two walking shooters. They have been excellent - they have worked with superb clarity out to over 700m over open ground using the intercom and that is usually at a whisper due to the nature of the hunting. The ability to communicate under these circumstances is invaluable. Once paired I usually switch them to standby so there is no background noise at all then a simple tap of the jog button on either headset reconnects the intercom function instantly They also work well for Bluetooth connectivity with my phone when driving. Voice communication is very clear and precise. They have handled light rain many times with no issues. They are quite light and comfortable though the first couple of times wearing them for several hours caused slight discomfort where the over-the-ear support rests behind the ear. The negatives.......several users report having broken the `headband` - I have managed to keep mine intact but handle them a little more carefully than I would like to. A metal band within this `headband` would be a good improvement. For listening to music they are quite good but not up there with the modern quality headphones (Bose etc.) in terms of sound quality and in particular bass response but then they are designed for a different purpose primarily. No doubt great hi-fi reproduction would necessitate a heavier, larger unit. Overall, considering I bought them mainly for the long range intercom feature, I rate them very highly. They are not cheap but I actually think them great value for money considering the benefits they give.

Well made bit big kit. With one button press allows continual two way duplex communication between the headsets with no ptt or vox sensor. Good out to about 250m. Also allows pairing with music device to listen to music through headset as well as calling of connected to a mobile.

Use it on a boat for communicating from one end of the boat to the other - it works fantastically.

We use them on a sailing yacht to communicate from cockpit to bow when anchoring or docking. Good fit, good range, clear sound. No shouting, no arguments. Great investment.

Bought two of these and one stopped working within the two year warranty. Contacted Sena and they told me to go back to Amazon - Amazon offer no option when I look at my orders for any help. Tried resetting the device various ways - physical reset and button push reset, both as recommended in the User Guide. Tried to update firmware, but that software was useless not even recognizing the headset that is working. I have worked in IT for 30+ years and found the unclear instructions so frustrating. Sena have so many products and they try and support them all generically. I then bought a Sena PI to use with the good SPH10-10. Got it to connect with each other once and then the PI stopped working. Luckily I could return that to Amazon as the order was less than 3 weeks in. These headsets are expensive and I only want to use the intercom feature - 300 pounds down the drain and no help in sight.

Works very well even in noisy windy environment

Everything works as it should sound quality excellent,even the person on other end can hear ypu clear in all weather's. Just one problem the plastic bits that sit on your ears are not padded or covered so the plastic rubs/irritating the ears which in turn makes them sore. Trying to source something to cover them in no joy yet. If anyone else has same issues please share what ypu did to fix the issue.

Using this for business within a very noisy environment. These work absolutely perfectly for setting up a private conference between like headsets. We have tried many solutions, FRS radio... etc. These are the winners. Upgraded to the latest firmware, 4.2, easy as pie. The rubber covers that protect the various connections to the headset actually work. They stay closed when closed and have a tight fitting. The sound quality is great. So far very impressed. We will see about durability and I will update this review over time. Clearly a very well made and solid product. ---------------- Update 7 May 2013 Stole a pair from the office to use on my sailboat this past weekend. We use them to communicate between myself and my wife when we are coming into dock, a fairly large boat. In the past we used a product called "marriage savers" designed for boating and the 24G FRS based full duplex head sets. I have always been a huge advocate of headsets on pleasure boats for communication between crew members when picking up mooring balls or docking. It saves on the screaming factor:) While my two previous sets were okay, we had continual issues with interference with other RF transmitters in the area. This bluetooth solution is MUCH better. We loved them and so I just ordered two for the boat. They pair really fast and the voice quality is unmatched. They seemed very stout and should do fine in a marine environment. --------------- Update 17 March 2014 After a full season of use, still going strong. I have yet to find an issue with these headsets. One hint is to write your own quick start guide for use and keep it handy. The three buttons you need to always remember (there are a lot of buttons) is the Jog Dial button, Jog button, and the Phone button. The names make no sense but are important. For simple use case: 1. Turn on - hold Jog Dial Button and Phone button on simultaneously announces with "Hello" LED flashes Orange then flashes blue slow 2. To Pair - On each set, hold the Jog dial button on until it announces "intercom pairing" (LED flashing Orange fast) - On one set momentarily (1-2 seconds) hold down the Jog Dial button then release, (wait 2-4 seconds) once paired they will each beep twice and LED flashes two quick blue twice then pause, then repeats with two quick blue flashes then pause, repeat 3. Turn off - hold Jog Dial Button and Phone button on simultaneously, announces with "good bye" ----------------------------------------------- March 16, 2015 I bought two pairs of these for our boat. We have been using them solid for two years on the boat and they still work great. For docking and laying anchor out they have been a huge benefit to us for communicating over the length of the boat together, 45 feet. . We have been in some nasty weather while using these and I am concerned that the level of water resistance is not good enough but so far not a problem. Sometimes we forget to turn one of them off and the battery dies so we fall back to the shouting methodology on those few occasions, it just makes us even more appreciative of their functionality. These do get dropped and kicked and very abused on the boat but they just keep ticking, amazing! The newer headbands are really much better than the ones I had originally bought for the company.

Utilisé dans une voiture au niveau sonore un peu élevé. Fait bien le job pour téléphoner, écouter le GPS ou de la musique, parler avec sa passagère ou ou son passager.

Jag köpte dessa för att använda i datahallar. Mikrofonen är perfekt i mobilsamtal. Parkopplingen bra. Batteriet håller laddning bra. Men eftersom det är on-ear så släpper lurarna in lite mer ljud än jag skulle önska för mitt användningsområde. Vilket jag naturligtvis visste kunde ske och det var ett blindköp för att testa. Men jag har kvar det och använder det, inte lika ofta som om det hade varit perfekt, men ändå. Det gör jobbet.
